Old Song opened a bottle-grade polyester chip trading shop in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, holding a batch of Hualei brand bottle-grade chips and CZ-302 bottle-grade material. Last month, a beverage factory client changed suppliers at the last minute, and those trays sat in the warehouse for almost half a year. The lettering on the bags was worn out, the labels were still from last year, and the warehouse manager said, "If we don't move this material, it's almost past its shelf life."

The bulk material market changes instantly; the chips stored in the warehouse won't change on their own.

Stagnant chips aren't goods, they're liabilities lying on the books.

PET this stuff, bottle-grade polyester chips, to put it bluntly, are material for mineral water bottles and beverage bottles. What is it afraid of? Afraid of moisture absorption, clumping, and mixing with non-bottle-grade materials. It's the same as storing sugar in a damp warehouse—if the material itself isn't spoiled, if it absorbs moisture, it easily clumps when cutting, and problems arise during spinning or blowing. What's even more troublesome is that PET bottles use huge amounts and market prices fluctuate quickly. If you keep them in the warehouse for a month, if the market drops, the residual value drops by a bit.

The common problem with bulk materials is—anyone can buy them, everyone wants to lower prices. What's even more troublesome is that bottle-grade PET and sheet-grade PET are placed together, and you can't tell them apart just by looking; you have to measure viscosity and color. Dealers don't understand this trick, just grab a glance and calculate it as PET bulk, and the good material sells at a scrap price.

Let me tell a truth: Old Song once contacted three scrap collectors. The first one immediately said PET bottle flakes and said, "This material is too common, I'll calculate the wholesale price for you"; The second came but circled the warehouse and said, "Your batch number is unclear, I can only calculate based on the recycling price for you"; The third was even worse, not even entering the door, directly saying over the phone, "Bring it yourself, I'll pay this price." Old Song almost pulled it over, but luckily a peer warned him, "This kind of middleman, if you bring it over, they can still find fault with your truckload."

The wholesaler's tactic is similar to the scale of a scrap collector—outwardly the price is clearly marked, but secretly they calculate 20 jin less. You might think they're helping you clear inventory, but actually they're using your good materials to make up for their inferior goods.

To put it bluntly, the price he gives is always the price he would sell for another cut.

Kelong New Materials follows a terminal digestion route for PET recycling. Bottle-grade general-purpose materials, Hualei brand bottle-grade slices, Sanfangxiang CZ-302 bottle-grade, Wankai bottle-grade materials—downstream bottle and sheet factories have always used them. After grading and collecting them, they are immediately taken away without inventory overload. For imported bottle flakes like IVL and Far East New Century FENC, we also accept niche batches and enter our own modified pelletizing formula for digestion, regardless of brand or batch. It's similar to mixed feed: main and main ingredients are used, auxiliary materials are mixed in, nothing is wasted.

Pricing is based on viscosity, color, and appearance—clean sheets get good prices, and slightly yellowed ones are treated as modified materials. With our own production capacity and long-term customers as a backup, our quotes are stable, and we won't turn our backs on anyone when the market drops.

Bulk materials sell quickly, but the premise is that you find people who truly use them.

The five-step cooperation process: material reporting, grading evaluation, on-site pickup, deducting payment, and settling and invoicing. That's how Old Song handled the batch of materials—he took photos and sent them, labeling Hualei brand slices for about twenty tons and CZ-302 eight tons. After we appraised and quoted the price, we arranged a time for on-site weighing. The recycling payment was directly used to offset his purchase of KONICE modified plastic next month, totaling about fifty thousand. After clearing out a row from the warehouse, Old Song said, "If I'd known, I would've dealt with it the year before last, why would I have kept it for so long?"

Recycling isn't about selling cheaply; it's about converting the money held in the warehouse into new materials that can be turned. Later, Old Song told his peers about this, and they finally understood—it turned out bottle-grade chips aren't worthless, but that they hadn't found the right people who actually use them.

Currently, the PET grades available for recycling include IVL bottle-grade general-grade material, Far East New Century FENC bottle-grade granules, China Resources Chemical Hualei bottle-grade chips, Jiangsu Sanfangxiang CZ-302 bottle-grade, and Wankai New Materials bottle-grade material (GB/T 17931-2018). In terms of form, they collect: obsolete original material, bottle chip edges, injection-molded spouts, transparent bottle scrap, and inventory scrap. Packaged separately for this colorant and colored materials, the graded price is better.

Three common misconceptions, here is a reminder —

"PET is everywhere and not valuable?" "The truth is bottle-grade slices have a large circulation volume; finding the right terminal is better than finding a dealer."

"Waiting for market returns?" "The truth is PET absorbs moisture and clumps, and every extra month it holds drops in residual value."

"Is it easier to bring it over and sell it yourself?" "The truth is, the price difference between door-to-door pickup and home delivery can be quite different."
