Old Chen makes modified material in Huangyan, Taizhou. The barrel of CB550 LCBR liquid glue at the warehouse entrance has been stored in an iron drum for almost eight months. A downstream customer says the formula won't add toughening components, and the three barrels of raw rubber instantly become hot potatoes. A layer of semi-solidified plastic film hangs on the barrel wall, forklifts dare not press it, and the warehouse ledger notes liquid, hazardous chemical properties, and dedicated personnel. Old Chen squatted by the barrel and tapped, thinking: Dump this stuff, environmental protection won't let it; Keep it, capital occupies the position and still occupies the position.
Obsolete material isn't an asset, it's a liability lying on the books.
LCBR this thing, scientifically called liquid polybutadiene rubber, is only familiar to owners who make tire sidewalls, modified HIPS, ABS toughening, and shoe materials. It's a liquid, low viscosity and amber color, like thickened sugar water. Once exposed to air for a long time, a layer of skin slowly forms on the surface, causing the physical properties to fall off. What's even more troublesome is that its unit price is high—several hundred kilograms per barrel, and storing it in a warehouse is no different from stacks of cash. In summer, when it's hot, the barrel swells; in winter, when it gets cold, fluidity worsens. When you want to use it, you realize it doesn't feel the same as when you first opened the barrel.
The essence of recycling isn't selling scrap, it's turning dead money into living money.
Let me say something offensive. Most wholesalers on the market who buy this kind of liquid glue quote based on the pictures, then brag over the phone that they want as much as they want. When you bring the bucket over, they stick a stick in and stir it a couple of times, saying the surface has crusted or the viscosity is off, and immediately cut it in half. Think about it, liquid materials are hard to sort from. Whatever they say goes—good barrels are charged by the whole barrel, crust barrels are charged by processing fees, and then resold to tire factories or modification factories, with the difference paid alone. Some dealers are even more outrageous, not caring about the brand at all, treating each barrel as a barrel, mixing CB550 with off-label glue, and later dividing it all themselves.
The wholesaler isn't helping you deal with scrap; they're using your good materials to supplement their inferior materials.
Cologne New Materials does end-use digestion recycling. We have long-term downstream clients specializing in modified toughness, shoe materials, and adhesives. For brands like CB550, which have high circulation, we can buy them in and match the customer's formula, so we can ship directly without inventory pressure. If the batch is slightly off or viscosity drifts, there's no need to worry—these materials can be absorbed into our own modified formulas, regardless of batch. Pricing is graded based on viscosity, color, and whether there is a crust skin—one price per level, not just a random phone call. With our own production capacity and customers backing us, our quotes are stable—no matter how much one price changes tomorrow.
Good materials aren't afraid of not being picked up; what's worrisome is selling good materials as waste.
On the day of the on-site evaluation, our technician brought a viscometer and a sampling tube. On site, we scraped off the barrel wall film to measure viscosity. The whole barrel was counted as a whole barrel, and the crust barrel was calculated by deduction from the price of the barrel—we'll show you every detail. For liquid material transportation, we use sealed ton-ton barrels—no slipping or leaking. If there is any loss during transportation, we'll cover it ourselves and come back to you for replacement.
Try a different approach for better deals—exchange recycled material for new material. Five-step process: First, you report the material, take a photo of the barrel, state the brand number, net weight, and city; We will come to the site for sampling and grading the goods; On-site weighing and receiving the goods; The recovery payment will be directly deducted from your purchase of new material from Cologne; Settlement and invoice will be issued. A long-term customer in the footwear material company had about 4 tons of LCBR stagnant glue stored in the warehouse, offset nearly half of the new material payment by grading, saving about 20,000 yuan in cash flow. The new line was brought back to the full range of QUANICE elastomers, so continuing orders was not delayed.
To put it plainly, liquid glue isn't something you can't keep; it depends on how you convert it into cash flow.
As for specific grades, we regularly recycle mainstream liquid polybutadiene grades like LANXESS/Alan New CB50; For Kinho, Ruiong, and domestic manufacturers' LCBR grades, physical appraisals are used as the basis. Recyclable forms include stagnant original packaging material (whole or loose barrels), tank bottom residue, adhesive residue at the corners after opening, test machine material before mixing, and inventory surplus. Make sure the crust material is packed separately, don't mix it with new glue, or the whole truck will be sold at the crust price.
To be honest, dealers don't dare buy liquid glue—not because the material is bad, but because they have no buyers. If you wait half a year for the barrel, the crust and viscosity on the barrel walls will deviate, and then the price drops even more. While the material is still fresh, finding someone with a terminal to pick it up is better than anything.
Avoid pitfalls with a few reminders. Is recycling just about paying for it? The truth is graded evaluation; good barrels can be sold at good prices. No one wants liquid material? The truth is that if you find the right end customer, modification and shoe material factories are looking for suppliers. Whoever offers the higher price sells whom? The truth is that liquid material has high transportation losses; if you don't have the qualifications and miss a bucket halfway, the responsibility is still yours.
