SBS回收|鞋材改性料呆滞了别硬扛,科隆新材终端消化把死钱变活钱

Old Zheng makes shoe sole material in Wenzhou, and the two trays of YH-792 SBS pellets in the warehouse have been sleeping on the pallets for almost a year. Foreign trade orders have been cut in half, and the inventory suddenly has more than ten tons of material. The bag surface has already absorbed moisture and softened; forklifts passing by don't dare to press it. When the warehouse manager flipped through the ledger, just the space and interest on funds were wasted in a month. Old Zheng squatted at the workshop door smoking, clearly understanding: SBS yellows and loses performance after sitting too long, just like fried food stored for too long—half the appearance is lost.

Obsolete material isn't an asset, it's a liability lying on the books.

SBS this stuff, every boss who makes shoe soles, modified asphalt, and hot melt glue knows it well. It's a thermoplastic elastomer, looks like plastic granules, but feels like rubber. The problem is it's afraid of yellowing; the styrene segment turns yellow when exposed to UV light, resulting in uneven sole color, so customers return the product directly. What's even more troublesome is the big price difference between oiled and unoiled structures, star-shaped and linear structures have a huge price gap, and sellers don't even distinguish between buying materials—one ton is treated like another. Storing it in the warehouse is like storing aged tea—it looks like tea, but when brewed, it doesn't taste the same.

The essence of recycling isn't selling scrap, but turning dead money into working money.

Let me share a heartbreaking story. A boss called in a wholesaler for a quote. The caller agreed on the phone, picked up an SBS capsule at the warehouse door, rubbed it twice, said the pellets had turned yellow and lost molecular weight, and charged at floor price. The wholesaler's calculations are even more sophisticated than your accountant's—they take the goods back and repackage them according to grade, sell the good ones as original factory goods, and mix the wrong ones into the lower-grade materials, making a profit from both ends of the price difference. You think you sold at a good price, but in reality, you've been exploited and exploited. Some vendors are even more outrageous, not even checking the grades, mixing YH-792 and T161 into one truck, then telling the next customer it's the standard price—who are you going to complain to?

The wholesaler isn't helping you deal with scrap; they're using your good materials to make up for their inferior goods.

Colon New Materials does end-use digestion recycling. We have long-term downstream customers specializing in shoe soles, asphalt modification, and adhesives. For high-circulation grades like YH-792 and 3501, we accept them that match the customer's formula and can be shipped directly without inventory pressure. If we encounter unpopular grades or batches with deviations, we can incorporate them into our own modified formula system and absorb them, regardless of grade or batch. Pricing is graded based on styrene content, oil content, and yellowing degree, with one price per grade, not a one-size-fits-all price. With our own production capacity and customers backing us, our prices are stable and don't fluctuate with market trends.

Good materials aren't afraid of not being picked up; what's worrisome is selling good materials as waste.

On the day of the on-site evaluation, our technician brought a hardness tester and a colorimeter to measure the styrene's feel and degree of yellowing on site, recording linear and star shapes separately. You were present and weighed; the tare weight, gross weight, and net weight all matched up. Yellowed pellets and new pellets must be bagged; otherwise, the whole truck will be sold according to the yellowing price. We wrote this on the recycling form and explained it in person.

A different approach is more cost-effective—replace recycled material with new material. Five steps of the process: first report the material, take a photo, indicate the brand, tonnage, and city; We conduct on-site graded evaluation and quote on the spot after testing; On-site weighing and receiving the goods; Payment for recycling directly deducts from your purchase of new material from Cologne; Final settlement and invoice issuance. A long-term customer of a hot melt adhesive company had about 6 tons of SBS stale material stored in the warehouse. By grading, nearly half of the new material payment was offset, saving about 20,000 yuan in cash flow. The newly brought back was the full range of QUANICE elastomers, which were directly added to the production line for renewal.

To put it bluntly, waste isn't something you can't accept; it depends on how you handle it.

As for specific grades, we regularly recycle mainstream SBS grades such as Baling Petrochemical YH-792, YH-791, YH-802; Huizhou Li Changrong 3501, 3505, 3411; Dushanzi Petrochemical T161, T171, T6302; Maoming Petrochemical F475, F675, F475B; Other manufacturers like Ningbo Changhong use actual product appraisals as the standard. Recyclable forms include obsolete original packaging (whole pallets or loose packs), extruded gate feed, pelletizer head material, scrap parts, and inventory residue. Yellowed pellets must be screened separately; don't mix them with new pellets in the same bag.

To be honest, SBS dealers love to buy because it's easy to sell. But precisely because it's easy to sell, they drive your price down hard—they know you're eager to clear out. You need to find someone who can directly handle the terminal formula and have them price you based on physical properties, not just by how good they are.

Say a few words to avoid pitfalls. Is recycling really selling cheap? The truth is selling by grade and grade; good materials can be sold at good prices. Waiting for prices to go up? The truth is, SBS will only yellow and oxidize when shelved, and the longer it is stored, the less valuable it becomes. Who offers the highest price? The truth is that when you get the price, you have to bargain, weigh it, and delay payment—the price is even worse than the three companies
