电话那头沉默了三秒。做轮胎、做胶管胶带的厂,差不多都接过这种电话。SBR这东西量大、价透明,副牌的坑就藏在门尼和苯乙烯含量那一两格里。
量大面广的胶,格局却很散
SBR,丁苯橡胶,丁二烯和苯乙烯共聚出来的合成橡胶,产量和用量在合成橡胶里常年排在前面。它分两条线:乳液聚合的E-SBR,走量大、便宜,做轮胎胎体、胶管、鞋底;溶液聚合的S-SBR,做绿色高性能轮胎胎面。
SBR这个行业格局很散,没有一家能通吃。按国外产能和市占排,头部是日本JSR、日本瑞翁(Zeon,Nipol)、韩国锦湖石化这三家;旭化成(Tufdene)、阿朗新科(Buna)、LG化学各占一块。全球前三国外厂合计也就两成出头的份额,剩下全是细分玩家。(口径:市占/产能,行业报告)
E-SBR和S-SBR虽然都叫SBR,走的却是两条完全不同的聚合路线。E-SBR在水乳液里自由基聚合,门槛低、产量大,价格也平实,是轮胎胎体、胶管、胶板的主力;S-SBR在有机溶剂里阴离子聚合,微观结构可控,专门给绿色高性能轮胎胎面用。做副牌的采购,头一件事就是先问清楚自己手里这料是哪一路,别把两条线的料搞混。
副牌不是掺了杂,是化验单飘了一格
做胶的人容易有个误会:副牌就是掺了再生胶的便宜货。这是把因果搞反了。SBR副牌不是胶里掺了杂,是原厂同批聚合胶乳里,门尼粘度和结合苯乙烯含量在出厂检验时小幅越线的那一档。分子链还是那套分子链,聚合线上出来的东西没变。
四大来源一个样:装置开停车头尾料、牌号切换过渡料、工艺波动致门尼或苯乙烯含量小幅超标的批次、副线尾料。它跟回料的区别,就是原厂原生胶粒,没走过二次热炼;跟再生胶的区别,是原料还是丁二烯-苯乙烯共聚体系,不是废旧轮胎磨碎了回来。
别小看这一两格的浮动。SBR的加工窗口本来就窄,门尼差五个点,炼胶温度和硫化时间都得跟着调。副牌省的是料钱,调机花的是时间和电费,这笔账要一起算,不能只盯着单价。
JSR:指标漂移有规律
日本JSR是合成橡胶的老资历。它家SBR牌号细,从通用E-SBR到功能化SSBR都有,配套轮胎大厂做配方。JSR副牌的特点是指标漂移有规律,门尼偏差常落在可控区间,做一般轮胎件、胶板、橡胶地板的厂拿来顶正牌,配方微调一下就过。
JSR在E-SBR通用品上的积累很深,副线尾料也多集中在通用牌号,不像高端料那样一票难求。对用量大、对单指标容忍度高的胶厂来说,它是那种“换上去不翻车”的稳妥选择。
瑞翁Nipol:浅色胶料的硬指标
日本瑞翁,Nipol是它的商标。瑞翁在E-SBR和S-SBR都有布局,新加坡基地专门做低滚阻轮胎料。它家副牌多是苯乙烯含量小幅飘移的批次,特点是杂质含量低、色泽浅——这对做浅色胶管、密封件的厂是硬指标。瑞翁副牌文档做得细,批次留样机制成熟。
锦湖:量大价活,要盯化验单
韩国锦湖石化是SBR的另一家主力,Kumho SBR在轮胎和鞋材用得广。锦湖副牌量大、价相对活,适合用量大的通用件。要注意的是,锦湖副牌的门尼波动区间比日系宽一点,下单前先跟供应商要到具体批次的化验单,别只听一句“跟正牌差不多”。
三个坑,都在化验表里
SBR副牌的坑集中在三件事。头一件是门尼。SBR加工性全看门尼,副牌门尼飘一点,炼胶时间、硫化曲线全跟着变,新料上机前必须测门尼、打硫化曲线。
第二件是结合苯乙烯含量。这一项决定硬度和抓地力,做轮胎胎面的厂尤其要卡。第三件是油含量。充油SBR副牌容易在含油量上做文章,手感软但不代表性能对。
说到底,SBR副牌不是不能用,是不能闭眼用。化验单、门尼、硫化曲线三样东西齐了,再谈价格,这才是把风险攥在自己手里的做法。

There was a three-second silence on the other end of the phone. Factories that make tires and hose tapes have almost all received this kind of call. SBR is a big product and has transparent prices; the sub-brand pitfall is hidden in the one or two blocks of Moonny and styrene content.
Rubber with large volume and wide distribution has a scattered
SBR . Styrene-butadiene and styrene copolymerized synthetic rubber have consistently ranked at the top in both output and usage among synthetic rubbers. It has two lines: Emulsion polymerization E-SBR, which sells large volume and cheap, making tire bodies, tubing, and soles; Solution polymerization S-SBR, making green high-performance tire tread .
SBR this industry is fragmented, and no one can dominate all. By foreign production capacity and market share, the leaders are Japan's JSR, Japan's Zeon (Nipol), and Korea's Kumho Petrochemical; Asahi Kasei (Tufdene), Alanxin Tech (Buna), and LG Chem each hold a share. The top three foreign factories worldwide together hold just over 20% of the market share; the rest are all niche players. (Standard: Market share/capacity, industry report) Although both called SBR,
E-SBR and S-SBR follow two completely different polymerization routes. E-SBR polymerizes free radicals in water emulsions, has a low barrier to entry, large output, and affordable price, making it the main product for tire bodies, hoses, and rubber sheets; S-SBR polymerizes anionic substances in organic solvents, has controllable microstructures, and is specifically used for green high-performance tire tread. When purchasing for sub-brands, the first thing is to clarify which source the material you have is from, so don't confuse materials from two lines.
Sub-brand isn't adulterated; it's just a fluttered section on the test report .
People who make rubber often misunderstand: sub-brands are cheap products mixed with recycled rubber. That's a reversal of cause and effect. SBR's sub-brand isn't just adulterated in the glue; it's the grade in the same batch of original polymer latex where Mooney viscosity and bind styrene content slightly cross the line during factory inspection. The molecular chain is still the same set; what comes out of the polymer line hasn't changed.
The four major sources are the same: starting and shutting down the unit, grade switching transition materials, batch of batch with slightly excessive Mooney or styrene content due to process fluctuations, and secondary line tailings. The difference from recycled material is that the original factory virgin rubber pellets have not undergone secondary remixing; The difference from reclaimed rubber is that the raw material is still a butadiene-styrene copolymer system, not recycled from scrap tires.
Don't underestimate these one or two grid fluctuations. SBR processing windows are naturally narrow; Mooney is five points off, and mixing temperature and vulcanization time must be adjusted accordingly. Secondary brands save on material costs, machine adjustments consume time and electricity costs; these accounts must be calculated together, not just unit price.
JSR: Indicator drift follows patterns
Japan's JSR is a veteran in synthetic rubber. Their SBR grades are fine, from general E-SBR to functional SSBR, with matching tire manufacturers formulating them. JSR's secondary brand features regular indicator drift, with Mooney deviation often within a controllable range. Factories producing general tire parts, rubber sheets, and rubber flooring use it as the official brand, with a slight formula adjustment and approval.
JSR has deep accumulation in E-SBR general products, and the secondary line scrap is mostly concentrated in generic grades, unlike high-end materials that are hard to get. For rubber factories with high usage and tolerance for single indicators, it is a safe choice that "switches on without failing."
Ruion Nipol: Hard indicator for light-colored rubber materials
Japan Nipol, Nipol is its trademark. Ruion has layouts in both E-SBR and S-SBR, with a Singapore base specializing in low rolling resistance tire materials. Their sub-brand mostly has styrene content in slightly drifting batches, characterized by low impurity content and light color—a tough metric for factories making light-colored rubber tubes and seals. Ruiweng's secondary brand documentation is detailed, and the batch sampling mechanism is mature.
Kumho: Large volume and active pricing, keep an eye on test reports
Korea Kumho Petrochemical is another main SBR company, widely used in tires and shoe materials. Kumho's secondary brand has a large volume and relatively active price, suitable for general parts in large quantities. Note that Kumho's secondary brand has a slightly wider Mooney fluctuation range than Japanese brands. Before ordering, first ask suppliers for the specific batch test report, don't just hear "it's about the same as the genuine brand."
Three pitfalls are all in the lab form
SBR The pitfalls of the secondary brand are concentrated in three things. The first is Mooney. SBR processing properties depend entirely on Mooney; the secondary brand Mooney is slightly loose, and the rubber mixing time and vulcanization curve all change accordingly. Before putting new material on the machine, the Mooney must be measured and the vulcanization curve marked.
The second item is the styrene content. This determines hardness and grip, and tire tread factories especially need to control it. The third item is oil content. Oil-filled SBR secondary brands tend to focus on oil content; a soft feel doesn't necessarily mean the performance is right.
Ultimately, SBR secondary brands are not unusable, they just can't be used blindly. Once you have the lab report, Mooney and vulcanization curve, negotiate the price—this is the way to keep the risk in your own hands.

1. Test Menni before machine use; don't believe just "it's about right."
2. Tire parts are combined with styrene, seals are Carmeni.
3. Ask about oil content with oil-filled glue; soft feel does not necessarily mean good performance.
4. Secondary brand samples are used to mark vulcanization curves, and production is scheduled after passing.
Ganzhou has a client who makes tire liner rubber and hoses. Previously, they used genuine E-SBR, which accounted for the majority of the rubber costs. Later, they switched to JSR secondary brands to cover 30% of the usage. The Mooney measurement showed a deviation within five points.
