POM/PTFE为什么难处理?
POM/PTFE跟普通POM一个价?"
Old Deng makes wear-resistant bushings in Wuxi. Due to equipment upgrades, a batch of POM/PTFE self-lubricating material is compressed in the warehouse over six tons. This material is POM base mixed with PTFE, chosen for the low friction of the bushings and sliders, so the particles look a bit whiter than ordinary POM. The new equipment switched to POM with silicone oil, and these six tons of POM/PTFE instantly went from "special material" to "unused material." He asked around among his peers, and when they heard POM/PTFE, they shook their heads: "We can't tell the PTFE content here, so we don't dare to connect randomly." Old Deng stood in the warehouse, staring blankly at the pile of whitened pellets.
POM/PTFE self-lubricating gear material is so stagnant that people worry about being sold as ordinary POM.
POM is not cheap to begin with, and mixing PTFE makes it even more expensive, so I'm afraid some people will just pay by POM. Why is
POM/PTFE so hard to handle? It combines the wear resistance of POM with the self-lubricating of PTFE, specifically for bushings, sliders, and guide rails where both hard and slippery parts are needed. But PTFE is scattered throughout the POM, so to the naked eye it looks like a bag of whitened pellets. Ordinary recyclers can't tell how much PTFE is in your bag. It's like sesame cake—you can't break it open and think it's just regular cake, but only then do you realize there's sesame inside. Ordinary recyclers get it and calculate it as regular POM, and your PTFE money is eaten up. Plus, POM itself degrades, making it brittle after long-term storage, so ordinary recyclers use "degradation" as an excuse to pressure you again.
Self-lubricating material isn't about storage, but about being sold as unlubricated POM.
Now let's talk about the waste collectors. You make a round call, and when they hear POM/PTFE, they pretend to understand, but after quoting the price, you immediately hear it's the market price for regular POM. You've already memorized the wholesaler's tricks: they don't ask what percentage of PTFE you added or test friction, just calculate it as regular POM—they know very well that you might not even be able to say how much was added. Some things are even worse: they buy it back, add some PTFE themselves, sell it as self-lubricating material, and make a double profit in the middle. To put it bluntly, they're not actually receiving goods—they're making money from things you can't explain.
The PTFE you can't explain has become their reason for lowering your price.
Cologne New Materials does end-use digestion recycling, and we can handle self-lubricating materials like POM/PTFE. We have customers who have long made bushings, sliders, and guide rails using these materials. Popular batches can be picked up the same day and not stored in stock. When we encounter PTFE with unclear proportions, mixed batches, or long-term storage, we bring them back to the factory for friction coefficient measurement, grading them by self-lubricating performance, then using our own modified formulas for proportional digestion, regardless of brand or batch. Pricing is based on tested PTFE contribution, friction performance, and appearance grading, with clear pricing—not just a one-size-fits-all POM package. Own production capacity and fixed customers provide a bottom line, stable pricing, and don't fluctuate wildly with market trends.
The price of self-lubricating material depends on the friction coefficient, not the packaging bag.
Five-step cooperation process: material reporting, grading and evaluation, on-site pickup, deduction of payment, settlement and invoice. You print the material bags, quantity, whitening level, and usage for auction, then we grade and quote based on the actual product, and once agreed, we come to pick up the goods. The recovered payment can be directly used to offset your subsequent purchase of new materials—for engineering plastics, we own the KONICE modified plastic series. For the six tons of POM/PTFE from Wuxi Old Deng, after we brought them back to the factory to measure the friction coefficient, we discounted them to a fair price based on self-lubricating material, which directly offset about half of the cost of KONICE modified materials for the second half of the year, so they didn't suffer losses from ordinary POM.
Sell the undervalued self-lubricating material at its fair price.
We have received quite a few recyclable POM/PTFE grades. Mainstream grades for wear-resistant bushings and sliders, such as Celanese Hostaform C 9021 TF, RTP 803 TFE 15, RTP 805 TFE, and Enxinger Ertacetal H-TF, are our regular recipients; Other brands and other PTFE content POM/PTFE are also welcome to submit materials, subject to actual product evaluation. Recyclable forms include obsolete original packaging (complete or loose packs are acceptable), sprue and gate materials, bushing scrap and machine head materials, wear parts scrap and defective products, as well as inventory scraps at the end of the project. These are all negotiable with clear labels and single compositions.
Three Pitfalls to Avoid "POM/PTFE at the same price as regular POM?" The truth is, PTFE is a premium point; selling recklessly is the only way to lose money. "Just pick any POM collector?" The truth is, unpredictable friction dealers will only offer you POM prices. "Leave it and use it slowly?" The truth is POM degradation is irreversible; the more you store it, the more brittle.
