Lao Gao opened a biodegradable tableware injection molding factory in Ningbo and installed a PLA/PBS mixed line last year. But the client suddenly changed the thickness of the tableware, and the warehouse had a batch of Mitsubishi GS Pla AZ91T, Showa Electric Bionolle 1001, and several bags of Bionolle 500P, all sleeping on the pallet for nearly half a year. The bag mouth was sticky a bit due to workshop moisture, and the money still hung on the ledger as "imported biodegradable material"—in other words, dead money lying on the account.
Policy pushes production line switching, with trial production and modified materials under pressure, and most degradable bosses have stepped on it.
Obsolete material isn't an asset, it's a liability lying on the books.
PBS this substance, scientifically called polybutylene succinate, has good toughness and low temperature resistance, and relies on it for disposable tableware, agricultural film, and sheets. But like PBAT, it's naturally degradable by microorganisms, has a low melting point, and absorbs moisture—when warehouse humidity rises, the surface of the pellets hydrolyzes and self-adheres, just like when fruit is cooked, it softens on its own as it softens for you. What's even more troublesome is that AZ91T, Bionolle 1001, and 500P each have different fluidity and uses, and mixing them results in uneven boxing boxes. If you don't know grading, mix trial production edges with original raw material in one bag, and the seller will give you the mixed price at a glance, selling the good material at a junk price. Over time, the label gets worn off, and you can't even see the production date.
Biodegradable materials aren't left waiting for prices to rise; they're waiting for them to quietly age.
Let me tell you a truth: Lao Gao once found a scrap goods dealer who drove a small truck, circled the warehouse twice, and immediately said, "Your material is sticky and clumped, I'm afraid it'll decompose soon. I'll pay you the bulk price." Lao Gao thought he'd quickly make room and agreed. But after weighing, the other party started picking bags again—one bag dirty, another with smudged labels, and they cut off a few hundred more per ton. Lao Gao felt frustrated, but the goods were loaded, so what could he do?
The wholesaler's calculations were even more precise than your accountant's—picking out good materials and charging them by defective quality, returning trendy goods by shipping fees. Think about it—what they make isn't from scrap, it's money you don't know about the trade.
The vendor's quotation sheet is like a weather forecast—just glance at it before you leave, don't take it seriously.
Cologne New Materials follows a terminal digestion approach for PBS recycling, not relying on resale to make a profit from price differences. Mainstream brands like GS Pla AZ91T, BioPBS, Bionolle 1001, and Bionolle 500P are still used by downstream tableware, film bags, and sheet factories. After grading and grading, they are taken away directly without inventory pressure. We don't pick out trial production leftovers, batch miscellaneous materials, or slightly self-adhesive materials—they are processed into Cologne's own modified formula, just like mixing traditional Chinese medicine: if one ingredient is slightly more fluid, another ingredient can be replenished.
Pricing isn't one-size-fits-all. Grades by grade, melting fingers, appearance, moisture absorption and degradability—original new materials get a good price, slightly hydrolyzed materials are charged as modified grades, and the price difference is displayed on the table. Plus, with our own production capacity and long-term customers as a backup, our quotes don't fluctuate wildly. When prices go up, they chase after you; when prices drop, you ignore their calls. We still get what we get for it.
Good materials aren't afraid of no buyers; what's scary is selling good materials as waste.
Five-step cooperation process: material reporting, grading and evaluation, door-to-door pickup, deduction of payment, settlement and invoice. That's how Old Gao's batch of materials went—he took a few photos and sent them with the grade, labeled about five tons, appraised them, quoted a price, and arranged a time for on-site weighing. After the goods were brought back, the recycling fee was directly deducted from his purchase of KONICE modified plastics next month, about half of the cost. So the warehouse was cleared, the cash was back, and the new material arrived at the factory. After one trip, he told me I should have dealt with it two years earlier. The essence of
recycling isn't selling scrap, it's turning dead money into working money.
Recyclable PBS covers mainstream grades such as GS Pla AZ91T and BioPBS covering Mitsubishi/PTT MCC, Showa Electric Bionolle 1001, Bionolle 500P, and other brands like Kingfa Technology, Lanshan Tunhe, SK Chemical, and Skygreen. Formally, all are accepted: stagnant original packaging (whole bags or loose bags are fine), trial production leftovers, tableware sprues, injection-molded edges, self-adhesive lump materials, and inventory scraps. Biodegradable materials have short shelf lives and become less valuable the longer they are delayed. Report as soon as you notice stockpiles.
Three common misconceptions, here is a reminder —
"Is recycling just selling cheap?" "The truth is, it's sold by grade and grade—good materials can be sold at good prices, but mixed materials get pushed down."
"Is it okay to leave biodegradable materials there?" "The truth is, they're naturally degradable, and after absorbing moisture and sticking themselves, their strength drops even faster."
"Who bids the highest price and sells to whom?" "The truth is, when you get the price, you get a discount, weigh it down, and delay payments. Comparing prices with the three actually results in losses."
