Old Han makes automotive structural parts and electronic connectors in Xiaoshan, with a row of injection molding machines. Last month, a batch of connector orders was canceled, and the PA66 material was lost, leaving the eight bags of pellets in the warehouse. The bags were new, the seals unopened, and the outer box labeled "Reinforced, Heat-Resistant," but the customer moved elsewhere, and this material went from being the main ingredient on the production line to the biggest bottleneck in storage.
Old Han deals with nylon every day and knows it well: PA66 absorbs water like a sponge—after three days, its size changes, and the longer it drags on, the more performance drops. But selling eight bags of material all at once is like wasting thousands of yuan in price difference.
Bulky, obsolete material—if you press it for one more month, you lose a month of interest. What are the pain points in
PA66 handling? It's the hard currency among engineering nylons—engine compartments, connectors, structural parts all depend on it, and it absorbs moisture better than anyone. PA66 absorbs water like a sponge dropping into a basin—the particles look fine, but before drying, no one knows how much water they've swallowed. When moisture gets in the injection molding, bubbles, warps, and size floats. Who dares use connectors as precision parts?
Plus, it comes in a wide variety of grades and sources—Ausun, BASF, Celanis, Toray, Shenma—all have them. Ordinary recyclers can't tell if 21SPC is general injection molding or 70G33L with 33% glass fiber reinforcement, pure resin and reinforcement all in one pot, and the total weight is measured by general goods.
Fear of moisture, bulk volume, and fear of being simmered in one spoon are the three major obstacles for PA66 stagnant material.
You call the scrap collector, but they walk around the pallet, saying, "Oh, nylon 66," and immediately quote a bulk price. They can't tell if A3K is pure resin or A3WG6 is fiberglass reinforced.
Some dealers are even more ruthless, first quoting imported and domestic materials separately, then saying, "This bag is a bit yellow, want two more pieces." You've already unloaded half of your goods, and just the pressure scale alone strips off a layer.
To put it bluntly, they're betting on you having more material and urgently clearing out the warehouse.
Wholesalers aren't helping you clear out scrap; they're using your large volume to drive down prices.
Cologne specializes in end-user digestion, specializing in handling high-volume engineering nylon.
Vydyne Popular grades like 21SPC, Ultramid A3K series, Zytel 101L, Amilan CM series, and Shenma EPR27 are constantly needed by our modified customers. After grading and receiving them, we connect directly without inventory pressure. For niche batches, bulk scraps, domestic materials, or unclear labels, we use Cologne's own modified formulas to produce reinforcement, toughening, and heat-resistant modified materials for supply downstream, regardless of brand or batch.
Pricing is based on grade, pure resin or glass fiber reinforcement, physical properties, and appearance. Imported and domestic products, reinforced and pure resin are separately priced, never simmered together. With modified production capacity and customer backing, the quotation is stable—no change in price tomorrow.
Isn't afraid of large volumes; what's scary is mixing good materials into bulk goods and selling them cheaply as scrap.
Cooperation with recycled materials for new materials: you report materials, we grade and evaluate them, large quantities come to collect goods, recovered payments are deducted from new material payments, and invoices are settled.
After so many years, one of the most common questions from bosses is, "How much is my material really worth?" Actually, the answer isn't complicated: materials with clear grades and good condition are sold more than mixed loading; Starting by grading a day earlier means losing a month of rent and interest.
Tell a true story. A connector factory in Xiaoshan canceled about 6 tons of PA66, which included Zytel 101L pure resin and 33% fiberglass reinforcement. We went door-to-door grading: four tons of good condition were distributed by grade to modified customers, two tons of loose material went to their own formula, and the recycling payment was used to offset the next order of KONICE modified plastics. Calculating, they recovered 30,000 to 40,000 yuan more than selling bulk goods, and the warehouse was instantly emptied.
Turning large inventory into new material quotas is what it means to deal with obsolete materials.
To put it bluntly, your material might take two or three lots in others' hands, but here in Cologne, you can directly meet upstream and downstream demand. The savings from those resale and bargaining steps are all converted back into your quotation.
Currently, the high-circulation items we regularly collect include: Ascend Vydyne 21SPC, 21SPC1, 66B; BASF Ultramid A3K, A3WG6, A3W; Celanese Zytel 101L, 70G33L, E51HSB; Toray Amilan CM3001, CM3006, CM3004; Shenma Industrial EPR27, EPR27LS, EPR27FS, etc. Huafeng and other PA66 grades and domestic materials are subject to physical appraisal.
Recycling forms: Obsolete original packaging (whole pallet/loose pack), sprue and gate materials, edge and machine head materials, defective parts, and inventory scraps are all accepted. As long as labels are clear and not seriously contaminated, PA66 is especially prone to moisture absorption and clumping; sealing it in separate bags is even better.
"PA66 is everywhere, but can't sell at a higher price?" "The truth is that prices are sold by grade and grade. Popular imported and reinforcing materials can sell at good prices, while mixed materials get pushed down."
"Waiting for the market to recover?" "The truth is, moisture absorption is irreversible; before the market comes in, it's already worthless."
"If the volume is large, just pick any dealer?" "The truth is, the bigger the portion, the more tiered the meal—a spoonful of stew is the real loss."
