EMAA这料,是乙烯甲基丙烯酸共聚物,做铝箔/镀铝膜粘接、抗UV涂层的,靠的就是那层"粘得牢、抗老化"。可它加工温度敏感,边角料放久了吸潮、氧化,粘性就掉。
老韩的仓管把那两托料往里间挪,台账上写着"待处理"。车间那头,每天切下来的EMAA水口料、复合膜边角料堆在角落。
EMAA的痛点在于:它是粘接离聚物,粘性和抗UV就是它的命,放久了命先没。
呆滞料不是资产,是趴在账上的负债。
EMAA说白了就是改性聚乙烯,里面加了甲基丙烯酸,专做铝箔复合、镀铝膜粘接、抗UV涂层的。正因为是高酸含量粘接树脂,单价不低,一压库占的钱就多。
EMAA放久了粘性下降,跟胶带放久了脱胶一样——卷还是那卷,撕开已经不粘了。原包料开袋吸潮氧化,回炉做复合层,剥离强度不够,客户直接拒收。
车间里更现实的是混料。EMAA和EAA、EVA水口料长得像,工人图省事往一个袋里倒。一混,EMAA的高酸粘接溢价就打了水漂,只能按普通EVA卖。
高酸粘接料的贵,贵在那层"粘"字上,混掉了就一文不值。
老韩找过收料的。贩子抓起料粒一看,说"这不就是EVA嘛,按EVA价"。老韩当场摇头——他这是EMAA,做铝箔复合的,跟EVA差着价呢。可贩子不听,他不认EMAA。
说白了,统货商对这种"长得像EVA"的料,本能就是往EVA上靠。他不是不知道有EMAA,是认EMAA没好处——认了就得给你好价,不认就能压你。
有些贩子的认知,停留在"塑料就分透明和不透明"这一层,你跟他谈高酸粘接,他跟你谈统货。

Old Han works in Yuyao, Ningbo, making aluminum foil bonding coatings and packaging films, and the extrusion laminating machine in the workshop produces EMAA work year-round. Last month, a metallized film project changed its adhesive system. The warehouse had two trays of EMAA raw material, Dow Nucrel, which was suddenly unusable.
EMAA this material is ethylene methacrylic acid copolymer, used for aluminum foil/aluminum film bonding and UV-resistant coatings, relying on that layer of "strong adhesion and anti-aging." But its processing temperature is sensitive; the leftover material absorbs moisture and oxidizes over time, losing its stickiness.
Old Han's warehouse manager moved the two supports inward, with the ledger marked "pending processing." At the end of the workshop, daily cut EMAA sprue material and composite film scraps are piled up in the corner. The pain point of
EMAA is: it's an adhesive polymer, and its viscosity and UV resistance are its life—if left for a while, it's gone.
Stagnant material isn't an asset, it's a liability lying on the books.
EMAA plainly, it's modified polyethylene, with methacrylic acid added, specializing in aluminum foil lamination, aluminum film bonding, and UV-resistant coatings. Because it's a high-acid bonding resin, the unit price isn't low, and once you press the inventory, you lose money.
EMAA after a while, its viscosity drops, just like tape that peels off after a while—the roll stays the same, and once you tear it off, it's no longer sticky. The original packaging absorbs moisture and oxidizes when opened, then returns to the furnace to make a composite layer. If the peel strength isn't enough, the customer immediately refuses to accept it.
The more practical thing in the workshop is mixing materials. EMAA looks similar to EAA and EVA sprue material, so workers pour it into one bag for convenience. Once mixed, EMAA's high acid bonding premium is wasted, so it can only be sold as regular EVA.
High-acid adhesive is expensive because of the "stickiness" layer; once mixed in, it's worthless.
Old Han once contacted the collector. The dealer picked up the material pellets and said, "Isn't this EVA? At EVA price." Old Han shook his head on the spot—this is EMAA, made for aluminum foil lamination, and the price difference is higher than EVA. But the dealer wouldn't listen; he didn't recognize EMAA.
To put it bluntly, wholesalers instinctively lean toward EVA for materials that "look like EVA." It's not that they don't know about EMAA, but they accept that EMAA has no benefits—if they accept it, they have to offer you a good price; if they don't, they can pressure you.
Some dealers think that "plastic is divided into transparent and opaque." You talk to them about high-acid bonding, and they talk about wholesale goods.

Let me tell a true story. Last year, a factory in Ningbo that made aluminized film had about 4 tons of raw EMAA mixed with a bunch of EVA sprue material, and the adhesive system was changed and unusable. On our trip, we first picked out the EMAA mixed in EVA for grading, and those with enough bonding went through composite modification. The recovered amount was directly offset against the next batch of KONICE goods, about half of the cost. The row of mixing bags in the workshop was cleaned out, and the storage space was returned.
Good material isn't afraid of not being picked up; what's scary is selling good material as waste.
EMAA the grades we are familiar with: Dow Nucrel 0910HS, Nucrel 960, Nucrel 925, and other mainstream high-acid bonding grades are accepted year-round; other grades are subject to physical appraisal.
Recyclable forms: stagnant original packaging, sprue gate material, composite film scraps, defective scrap parts, and inventory scraps. Special reminder—EMAA sprue material must be bagging separately with EAA and EVA; mixing with high acid bonding premiums disappears.
- "Isn't EMAA just EVA?" The truth is EMAA follows the high-acid bonding main chain, aluminum foil lamination has a high premium, and selling mixed products is just selling cheaply.
- "Waiting for the project to restart?" The truth is that the more adhesive material is used, the less adhesive it gets, and the composite peel strength can't hold up first.
- "Who bids the highest price and sells to whom?" The truth is, EMAA is treated like EVA and you get the EVA price.
Fully certified and properly processed, weighing list, recycling form, and flow certificate all correspond one-to-one, can pass environmental audits and ISO audits, and do not go to illegal small workshops.
