Old Sun makes wristbands and watch bands in Dongguan, and the batch of G1652 SEBS in the warehouse has been sitting on pallets for almost ten months. A wearable customer switched suppliers, and the entire pallet instantly turned into a hot potato with no one to accept. The bag mouth was already a bit damp, the pellets were yellowish, and warehouse manager Xiao Qin checked the ledger and found the price wasn't cheap—one ton was worth two tons of regular SBS. Old Sun squatted in the corner of the warehouse and sighed: It was so grand when it arrived, but now it's almost impossible to scrape up the processing fees.

Obsolete material isn't an asset, it's a liability lying on the books.

SEBS this is something only bosses who make high-end TPE, wristbands, and sealants understand. It's a product hydrogenated with SBS, resistant to aging and yellowing, but the price is also much higher. The problem is that it absorbs moisture. Once the packaging breaks, the surface of the particles slowly absorbs water, and when squeezed out, a misty silver pattern appears, making the bracelets less translucent. What's even more troublesome is that molecular structures are divided into linear and star-shaped, with hardness ranging from 50A to 90A, and price differences can reach three to four thousand per ton. Dealers don't distinguish between the two when collecting materials; one ton is treated as one ton. SEBS moisture absorption is like tea when it gets damp—it smells the same way, but when brewed, it doesn't smell the same.

The essence of recycling isn't selling waste, but turning dead money into working money.

Let me tell a real story. A boss called in a wholesaler, who pinched a SEBS capsule and rubbed it twice, saying the color was too yellow or the hardness was right, and he charged at the floor price. The wholesaler's quotation sheet is like a weather forecast—just take it at a glance before you leave, don't take it seriously. He takes it back and regrades it by hardness, selling good grains as original ones, mixing the missing pieces into low-grade TPE, and the price difference goes straight into his pocket. You might think he's relieved when he sells them, but actually, he's just handing over the good material to the buyer for labeling. Some dealers are even worse, not even testing hardness, mixing G1651 and YH-688 together, then telling the next buyer it's the standard price.

The wholesaler isn't helping you deal with scrap; they're using your good materials to make up for their subpar.

Kelong New Materials is taking the path of terminal digestion. We have long-term downstream clients specializing in high-end TPE, coating materials, and sealants. For high-circulation grades like G1652 and YH-602, we accept them that match the customer's formula and sell directly without holding back the warehouse. If we encounter unpopular grades or batch deviations, we can absorb them into our own modified formula system, regardless of grade or batch. Pricing is graded by hardness, styrene content, oil content, and yellowing degree, with one price per grade, clearly stated on the recycling form. Backed by our own production capacity and customer support, our quotes are stable and don't fluctuate wildly with market trends.

Good materials aren't afraid of not being picked up; what's worrisome is selling good materials as waste.

On the day of the on-site evaluation, our technician brought a Shore hardness tester and an infrared rapid detector to measure hardness and check for precipitation, with 50A and 80A recorded separately. You were present and weighed; tare weight, gross weight, and net weight matched up. We'll separately advise whether to dry the moisture particles first, whether to dry them before evaluating or to evaluate directly—it's up to you, we don't make the final decisions for you.

Try a different approach for better deals—exchange recycled materials for new ones. Five-step process: first report materials, take photos, report brand number, tonnage, and city; We conduct on-site graded assessments and quote on the spot after testing; On-site weighing and receiving goods; Recovery payments are directly deducted from your purchase of new material from Cologne; Final settlement and invoice issuance. An old customer specializing in adult product coatings had about 5 tons of stagnant SEBS material stored in the warehouse, which was offset by grading for nearly half of the new material payment, saving about 30,000 yuan in cash flow. The new product brought back was the full range of QUANICE elastomers, which were directly added to the production line for renewal.

To put it bluntly, scrap isn't something you can't accept; it depends on how you handle it.

Regarding grades, we regularly recycle mainstream SEBS grades such as Keteng G1651, G1652, G1654; Baling Petrochemical YH-503T, YH-602, YH-688; Taihua Rubber 6151, 6154, 6159; Huizhou Li Changrong 7554, 7551, 7561U; Other manufacturers like Dynaso use physical appraisal for grades. Recyclable forms include obsolete original packaging (whole pallets or loose packs), extruded gate feed, pelletizer head material, coated sprue material, scrap parts, and inventory residue. Damp pellets should be separately dried and evaluated; don't mix them with new pellets in the same bag.

To be honest, SEBS prices are high, and holding them in warehouses yields a daily interest. Some bosses are reluctant to sell, always thinking prices will rise in two months. But in the elastomer industry, when the market rises, you don't have stock; when prices fall, you have a pile of inventory. I've seen plenty of cases where you miss out on both ends.

Say a few words at the last minute to avoid pitfalls. Is recycling just selling cheap? The truth is selling by grade and grade; good materials can sell at good prices. Waiting for prices to rise? The truth is, SEBS only absorbs moisture and oxidizes when shelved, and the longer it sits, the less valuable it becomes. Who bids the higher and sells it? The truth is, they bargain, weigh down, and delay payment when you get it—the price is even worse than the three brands
