Old Wu opened a transparent injection molding factory in Shunde, Foshan, specializing in washing machine doors and cosmetic packaging shells. Last month, the client replaced the transparent panel with regular ABS with a coating. The pile of TOYOLAC 920 transparent pellets and several bags of Chimei PA-758 in the corner of the workshop lay on the tray for almost half a year. The bags were dusty, the labels were still clear, but no one came to pick them up. Every time Old Wu did the inventory, he sighed—this material wasn't cheap back then, now it's piled up like waste plastic.

The client's design changes at will; your material won't change on its own.

The dull part isn't the material, but the money forgotten by the design.

MABS this thing, to put it bluntly, is transparent ABS—it can pass through and hold tight, making it especially popular for washing machine doors and cosmetic boxes. But it's delicate—afraid of scratches, moisture, and mixing with opaque ABS. It's the same as clear lenses that wear out after being stored for a long time: the material itself isn't bad, but if the surface becomes foggy, you won't get good products when made into transparent shells. What's even more troublesome is that MABS is not cheap—each tray of material costs tens of thousands of yuan, warehouse rent is calculated monthly, and capital usage is calculated daily.

Once transparent material becomes opaque, its value drops accordingly. What's even more troublesome is that when MABS is placed together with regular ABS, you can't tell the difference just by looking, so you have to measure light transmittance and impact resistance.

Let me tell you a truth: Old Wu once asked around around scrap collectors. As soon as they heard it was MABS, someone immediately said, "This transparent material is too niche, we can't do it." Someone quoted a price, and when Old Wu actually called them over, the other party squeezed the bag twice and said, "Your material has lost transparency for too long, so you can only buy it as ordinary modified material," cutting the price by nearly 30%. Old Wu wanted to argue, but the seller shrugged, "If you don't sell to me, there are still people waiting in line at the door."

The wholesaler was even happier when he saw transparent niche material than when he saw fatty meat—he knew you couldn't find a buyer, so he pressed it hard. He wasn't here to buy goods, he was here to collect your anxiety.

Pinpin, the price they offer is always the price they resell for another discount.

Cologne New Materials follows the end-user consumption route for MABS recycling. Common washing machine brands like TOYOLAC 900, 920, and 950X01 are still used by downstream appliance factories, who buy them and grade them and then immediately take them away. For cosmetic packaging and panel grades like Chimei PA-758, LG TR-558A, TR-557I, TR-556, Denka TE-10, TE-20, Rakuten Starex TX-0520IM, we also use niche materials into our own transparent modified formula, regardless of batch or color. MABS is originally meant to toughen and enhance transparency; when mixed back into transparent modified materials, the physical properties match.

Pricing is based on light transmittance, impact strength, and appearance grading. Clean and bright materials get a good price, while slightly misty materials are accepted as modified transparent materials. With our own production capacity and long-term customers as a backup, our quotes are stable—no price hikes just because your material is niche.

Transparent material isn't unwanted by anyone; it's that you haven't found the right people who truly use it.

Five-step cooperation process: material submission, grading evaluation, on-site pickup, deduction of payment, settlement and invoice issuance. That's how Old Wu handled the batch of material—he took photos and sent them, bidding about 4 tons of 920 and two tons of PA-758. After we appraised and quoted the price, we arranged a time for on-site weighing. The recovered payment was directly used to offset his purchase of KONICE modified plastic next month, totaling about 30,000 yuan. Clearing out half the warehouse feels like clearing old debts.

Recycling isn't about selling transparent materials cheaply; it's about revitalizing the dead money tied up in the position.

Currently, the MABS grades available for recycling include Toray TOYOLAC 900, 920, 950X01; Chimei PA-758; LG Chem TR-558A, TR-557I, TR-556; Denka TE-10, TE-20, CL series; Rakuten Starex TX-0520IM. In terms of form, they collect: obsolete original materials, injection-molded sprue nozzles, transparent cover edges and corners, cosmetic shell scraps, and inventory scraps. Don't mix transparent materials with colored materials; packing them separately and graded them is better for better prices.

Three common misconceptions, here is a reminder —

"Is misting transparent material considered trash?" "The truth is, even mild fogging can be used in modified transparent formulas; just throw it away is a loss."

"Niche transparent materials no one buys them?" "The truth is, if you find the right terminal, MABS is a commonly used appliance material and still sells quickly."

"Should we just leave it for now?" "The truth is, MABS oxidizes and fogs up after being sitted for a long time, and the more you store it, the less valuable it gets
