Old Hu makes transparent toys and paint-grade pellets in Yinzhou, Ningbo, and the workshop is filled with CAB. Last month, a transparent toy project was cut by a client. Several boxes of original CAB material from Eastman in the warehouse were printed on the bags and instantly became unwanted material.

CAB this material is cellulose acetate butyrate, used for transparent plastic toys, car paint, wood paint, and ink. It's transparent, tough, and has a smooth surface, but like CA, it's naturally sensitive to moisture. After being opened and stored for a long time, the pellet surface darkens, and when remelted to make transparent parts, it gets ruined.

Old Hu's warehouse is on the first floor, very damp during the rainy season. Those boxes of stagnant material are stacked against the wall, and the corners of the bags are a bit soft. The warehouse manager asked how to handle it, and Lao Hu sighed and said to just keep it for now. The

CAB's awkward problem is: it goes through two circles: transparent and painted, both have high requirements, and if left for a while, they lose their balance.

Obsolete material isn't an asset, it's a liability lying on the books.

CAB transparent parts look translucent, but their moisture absorption isn't much worse than CA. This stuff absorbs water like a sponge—once the bag is opened, moisture seeps in, and the physical properties change. If you don't bake it thoroughly before reheating, the transparent toy surface will show silver threads and mist, and the customer will immediately return it.

Coating-grade CAB is more particular about viscosity and acyl content. If left for a while, performance drifts and the formula factory has to retest it, which is very troublesome. In terms of unit price, CAB isn't cheap; a few boxes of obsolete material are holding it down, taking up a lot of money.

The workshop is more practical about sprue material. Transparent sprue material is valuable when clean, but once mixed with mixed colors, transparency is ruined, so it can only be sold as a regular product.

The value of transparent coating material lies entirely in the words "clean" and "stable"; once mixed or trendy, the value drops.

Old Hu has contacted buyers before. When the dealer heard "cellulose acetic acid," he shook his head—this material is niche, and he can't find a buyer to sell it again. Finally, someone willing to watch came in, pinched the grain, said "damp, bulk price," and pushed it to the floor.

To put it bluntly, when wholesalers encounter niche materials like CAB, their instinctive reaction isn't to find a solution; they first use 'moisture' and 'niche' as excuses to lower prices. If they get it right, you can't find another supplier, so they just lower you.

Some traders treat niche materials like picking up leftover leaves at the market—the more eager you are to sell, the more they push prices into the mud.

Cologne New Materials recycles CAB recycling, relying on modified production capacity. This material looks niche, but factories making transparent toys and paint modifications are looking for it all year round. For major grades like Eastman CAB-381-0.5, CAB-551-0.2, and CAB-531-1, we have downstream and formula suppliers in hand that we can absorb and absorb.

If you encounter moisture, discoloration, or uneven batches, don't worry—go into Cologne's own modified formula for graded digestion, no brand or batch picky. After light moisture absorption and drying, do modification; if that doesn't work, get a separate discount.

Pricing is graded by grade, viscosity, and appearance, with clear pricing. How much is deducted for how much moisture gets on paper; don't get a quick cut.

Own production capacity as a backup, stable quotation. Niche material prices fluctuate greatly, so we don't panic with them.

The essence of recycling isn't selling scrap, but turning dead money into cash flow.

Cooperative follows the five-step "recycled material for new material": material submission→ graded evaluation→ on-site pickup→ deduction of payment→ settlement and invoicing. Recycling payments are directly applied to the new material payment for Cologne, and the CAB direction corresponds to the KONICE modified plastic series.

Telling a true story. Last year, a factory in Ningbo that made transparent toys had about two or three tons of CAB raw material plus a bunch of transparent sprue material. The customer changed the material and canceled the order. On our trip, after grading evaluation, the products were split by viscosity and transparency. The non-moisture-absorbing ones were modified for transparency, the mildly absorbent ones were dried and downgraded, and the recycling amount was directly deducted from the next batch of KONICE payments. The few boxes of stagnant material in the warehouse were cleared out, and the new material had a place to put it. Old Hu did the math—it was much better than just piling them up in a corner.

Good material isn't afraid of not being picked up; what's worrisome is selling good material as waste.

CAB the grades we are familiar with: Eastman CAB-381-0.5, CAB-551-0.2, CAB-531-1, and other mainstream cellulose acetate grades; other grades are subject to actual product appraisal.

Recyclable forms: stagnant original packaging, moisture-absorbing material, transparent sprue gate material, scrap material and machine head material, toy scrap parts, inventory scrap. A reminder: CAB is sensitive to moisture and mixing. Pack broken packaging separately and don't mix it with mixed materials.

- "Does CAB become useless just because it gets damp?" The truth is, after mild moisture absorption and drying, it can still be modified, and even after grading, it still has a price.

- "No one buys coating-grade materials?" The truth is, find the right end party—paint modification factories have been searching for them all year round.

- "Who offers the highest price and sells to whom?" The truth is, they use "niche" products to drive down prices—if you're urgent, they'll do it.

Fully Qualified for Proper Disposal, with weighing lists, recycling orders, and distribution certificates all corresponding, can pass environmental audits and ISO audits, and do not end up with illegal small workshops
