Old Zeng made transparent home appliance shells in Ningbo. The two trays of LG 569C ABS/PMMA alloy pellets in the warehouse had been sitting on the pallets for almost half a year. A home appliance customer changed the appearance plan, and the inventory suddenly increased by three or four tons. The bag surface was a bit damp, the pellet color darkened, and the warehouse manager checked the ledger to find the material was designated for a no-paint transparent appearance, so the unit price was not cheap. Old Zeng squatted at the workshop door to settle the accounts: after ABS/PMMA absorbed moisture, injection molding caused white mist, making the transparent shell look blurry, like a new glasses lens, and the customer immediately returned it.

Obsolete material is not an asset, but a liability lying on the books.

ABS/PMMA is only familiar to bosses who make transparent exterior parts, car trim, and no-paint appliance cases. It's an ABS plus PMMA alloy, with a high surface hardness and a bright appearance, but it's naturally sensitive to moisture. Once the PMMA section absorbs water, when heated during injection molding, it shows a silvery pattern and the transparency drops rapidly. What's more troublesome is that alloy materials are customized according to exterior parts—high-gloss, matte, and transmittance each have their own grades. Vendors buy materials regardless of model—one ton is worth a ton. ABS/PMMA moisture absorption is like a layer of moisture on a glass window—it looks clean, but even wiping doesn't remove the fog. You might think a bit of drying is still usable, but the surface has already misted.

The essence of recycling isn't selling scrap, but turning dead money into working money.

Let me tell a real story. A boss called in a wholesaler, who picked up a piece of alloy and rubbed it, saying the color was dull and the light transmittance was poor, so they charged at floor price. The wholesaler's calculations were even more sophisticated than your accountant's—he took them back and mixed them into low-grade opaque home appliances, added some coloring caps if the appearance wasn't enough, and the finished shells turned yellow after a year, pocketing all the difference. Honestly, what he said doesn't work—it's not that he really has no customers, but that he doesn't have any transparent exterior parts factory for his own clients. Some dealers are even worse, not even testing light transmittance, mixing 569C with generic alloys and loading a whole truckload.

The wholesaler isn't helping you deal with scrap; they're using your good materials to make up for their poor parts.

Kelong New Materials follows the path of terminal digestion. We have long-term downstream customers producing transparent home appliance shells, automotive trim, and paint-free parts. For high-circulation grades like LG 569C, we accept them that match the customer's formula and sell directly without inventory pressure. If we encounter batches that are slightly off, we can use them into our own modified formula system and absorb them, regardless of light transmittance or batch. Pricing is graded by melting finger, surface hardness, and light transmittance, with one price per grade, clearly stated on the recycling form. With our own production capacity and customers backing us, our quotes are stable and don't fluctuate wildly with market trends.

Good materials aren't afraid of not having buyers; what's scary is selling good materials as waste.

On the day of the on-site evaluation, our technician brought a rapid moisture meter and a light transmission quick-check pen to measure moisture and check haze on site, recording transparent and semi-transparent separately. You were present and weighed; the trough, gross weight, and net weight matched accurately. We picked out atomized particles separately and didn't attribute haze to the entire batch.

A different approach is more cost-effective—replacing recycled material with new material. Five-step process: first report materials, take photos, report brand number, tonnage, and city; We conduct on-site graded evaluation, and after testing, quote on the spot; On-site weighing and receiving goods; Recovery payments are directly deducted from your purchase of new material from Cologne; Final settlement and invoice issuance. A long-term client of a transparent shell company had about 3 tons of ABS/PMMA obsolete material stored in the warehouse. By grading, nearly half of the new material payment was offset, saving about 20,000 yuan in cash flow. The newly brought back was KONICE's modified plastics, which were directly added to the production line for renewal.

To put it bluntly, it's not that you can't accept scrap; it depends on how you handle it.

As for specific grades, we regularly recycle mainstream ABS/PMMA alloy grades like LG Chem 569C; Techno-UMG Dakeneng Yulingtong, Trinseo, Kingfa, Toray and other manufacturers have grades based on actual product appraisal. Recyclable forms include stagnant original pack material (whole or loose packs), transparent shell sprue material, automotive trim gate material, extrusion gate material, pelletizer head material, scrap parts, and inventory residue. Moisture-absorbing pellets should be dried and sampled separately; don't mix them with new pellets in the same bag.

To be honest, ABS/PMMA requires light transmission; once moisture absorption atomizes, making transparent parts is useless. But for opaque parts, as long as the melt finger matches the surface hardness, they can still be used. The key is not to let the dealer take your good alloy at the price of waste transparent material.

Briefly to avoid pitfalls. Is recycling just selling cheap? The truth is that good materials sell at good prices by grade. No one wants transparent material? The truth is, find the right end customers; both modification factories and home appliance manufacturers are looking for supply sources. Whoever bids higher sells whom? The truth is that when you get the price, you have to bargain, weigh the money, and delay payments—the price is even worse than the three companies
