So why would manufacturers skimp on antimicrobial agents? In industries like home appliances, maternal and child products, and medical fields, antimicrobial features have changed from a nice-to-have to a must-have. Washing machines, air conditioners, trash cans, toothbrush handles—if the customer wants antimicrobial properties, and you provide them with a report, the order is yours; if you don't, they will simply switch suppliers. Not to mention medical-grade and food-contact components, where both antimicrobial effectiveness and migration must pass inspection.
