来源四样:开停车头尾料、牌号切换过渡料、工艺波动致抗冲或熔指小幅超标的批次、副线尾料。
HIPS副牌的命门在抗冲和光泽。家电内胆要低温抗冲、要易印刷;包装内衬要刚性。副牌常见的偏离是色相略黄、光泽略降、抗冲略低一点。它和回料的区别要记牢:副牌是原釜料只检不过,回料是旧壳子再造粒,已经受过一次热历史,低温一到就脆。

中国台湾奇美,HIPS的商标叫POLYREX,常见牌号PH-88、PH-88S、PH-888G、PH-888H这一类,大陆还有镇江、漳州基地。注意别和它家ABS的Polylac搞混——那是另一条产品线。
它家副牌量大面广,挤出级PH-88系列做冰箱内胆板、小家电壳子很常见,副牌多落在色相和光泽小幅偏差的批次,调色方便,做内胆内衬性价比很高。
LG化学:韩国来的稳健派
韩国LG化学,上游苯乙烯、橡胶一体化,HIPS牌号体系全,常见HF系列。它在电子电器外壳、阻燃方向布得比较深。
它家副牌,适合做一般家电外壳、包装件。一体化大厂的好处是基材稳,副牌只要把抗冲和熔指对上你的工艺,量产很顺。

Let me give you a sense of the idea: globally, nearly one out of every three refrigerators uses HIPS. This material has a nickname in the industry called "modified benzene"—styrene is modified with rubber, hence the name high-impact polystyrene. In the benzene modified business, who's taking the lead overseas?
HIPS is a general material within the styrene series; transparency depends on grade, and impact resistance depends on the rubber phase. Global production capacity is relatively dispersed, but the leading overseas tiers are clear: Europe's INEOS Styrolution leads the way, Taiwan's Chimei and Korea's LG Chem follow, and Saudi Arabia's SABIC and Total are also on the table.

Secondary brand and recycled material, don't confuse
HIPS secondary brand. The definition is still the same: same manufacturer, same grade, if some factory inspection indicators don't fully meet the official line, it's a secondary brand. It's still the original factory's original particles.
Four sources: starting and stopping the starting and tail materials, grade switching transition materials, batch of impact resistance or slightly exceeding melting index limits, and secondary line scrap material.
HIPS the key to secondary brands is impact resistance and gloss. The inner liner of home appliances should withstand impact at low temperatures and be easy to print; The packaging lining should be rigid. INEOS Styrolution, European factory, has been doing styrene for decades, with GPPS, HIPS, and ASA all in place. According to some market reports, it accounts for about 16% of the global HIPS share, ranking at the top.
Their sub-brands mostly produce batches with glossy or impact resistance with slight fluctuations. For home appliance interiors and packaging liners with non-extreme appearance requirements, this type of sub-brand is very worry-free. Its advantage is consistent batch quality and strong reputation.
Chimei Industrial: POLYREX, the familiar face of modified benzoin
Taiwan Chimei, HIPS trademark is called POLYREX, common grades like PH-88, PH-88S, PH-888G, PH-888H, and mainland China also has bases in Zhenjiang and Zhangzhou. Note: Don't confuse it with their ABS Polylac—that's a different product line.
Their sub-brands are large and widespread. Extruded-grade PH-88 series is common for refrigerator liners and small appliance shells. Secondary brands mostly fall into batches with slight color and gloss deviations, making color adjustment easy and cost-effective for inner liners.
LG Chemical: The steady Korean company
Korea LG Chem, upstream styrene and rubber integration, full HIPS grade system, commonly HF series. They are spread more deeply in electronic and electrical housings and flame retardant directions.
Their sub-brand, suitable for general appliance shells and packaging. The advantage of integrated big manufacturers is stable substrates; as long as the sub-brand matches impact resistance and melting fingers to your process, mass production goes smoothly.
Buy HIPS secondary brand, don't be ambiguous about these items
First point: inner tank parts, low-temperature shock resistance is the bottom line, don't just look at room temperature data.
Second, slightly yellowish hues are common in HIPS secondary brands. For white shells or light-colored parts, check the sample first.
Third, for parts that are easy to print and spray, check the surface tension of the secondary brand; don't wipe it off with a single print.
Fourth, large packaging is suitable for mass production by major home appliance manufacturers, while small packaging is suitable for small batch trial production.
