说白了,不是PP不行,是很多人只盯着正牌报价单,压根没搞懂PP还有个被妖魔化的中间选项——副牌。这篇就把PP这个品类、全球三家靠得住的国外大厂,以及它们的副牌到底能不能用,一次说透。
PP这东西,轻到能浮在水上

北欧化工Borealis总部在奥地利维也纳,背靠北欧和中东的原料,PP技术以Borstar双峰工艺出名,管道料Borflow、医疗料Bormed都是圈子里的硬通货。
它的副牌特点是"料好但量少"。因为主打中高端,流出的副牌批次不大,但基材韧性和耐候性底子好,常落在低温冲击或熔指小幅浮动上。拿去做户外周转筐、汽车内饰基层、需要一定耐候的件,比一般副牌更扛造。适用场景:户外结构件、汽车基层、管材配件。
挑副牌,这几个坑别再踩
知道了谁出货,还得知道怎么挑。副牌这东西,同样叫"大厂PP副牌",坑却不少。
一看批次稳定。副牌天然带波动属性,下单前先要小批量试机,熔指、灰分、缺口冲击这几项自己测一遍,别光看供应商给的检测报告。二看偏离方向。熔指偏高还是偏低、黄变还是透光差,要对着你产品的短板去匹配——你做外观件就别碰色相差的,你做结构件就别接熔指飘得离谱的。三看包装溯源。正规大厂副牌流出时,分大包装、小包装两种,袋子上的原厂标识和批次号要能对上,别买到挂羊头卖狗肉的贴牌货。

PP is so light that it can float on water
PP, scientifically named polypropylene, is a crystalline general-purpose plastic polymerized from propylene monomers. ExxonMobil's secondary brand is valuable because of integrated raw materials—it supplies propylene from its own upstream refining and chemical processes, ensuring high purity and stable ash control of the base material. The secondary brand products are often concentrated in high melt index thin-wall materials and transparent materials, with only a few showing slight deviations in translucency or gloss. These materials are suitable for manufacturing tableware and storage products with high whiteness and surface requirements but not strict transparency requirements, as well as thin-wall packaging, making them a good option for cost reduction. Applicable scenarios: thin-wall injection molding, transparent daily necessities, packaging containers.
Nordic Chemicals: Borflow series, piping and weather resistance are its specialty
Borealis, the Nordic chemical company, is headquartered in Vienna, Austria, relying on raw materials from Northern Europe and the Middle East. Its PP technology is famous for the Borstar bimodal process, and its pipe materials Borflow and medical materials Bormed are hard currency in the industry.
Its secondary brand is characterized by 'good material but small quantity.' Because it mainly targets the mid-to-high-end market, the batches of the secondary brand released are not large, but the base material has good toughness and weather resistance, often only showing slight variations in low-temperature impact or melt index. It can be used for outdoor turnover baskets, automotive interior substrates, and parts requiring certain weather resistance, performing better than ordinary secondary brands. Choosing a secondary brand, avoid these pitfalls
Knowing who supplies the goods is one thing, but you also need to know how to pick them. Sub-brands, even when called 'big factory PP sub-brands,' have quite a few pitfalls.
First, check batch stability. Secondary brands naturally have fluctuating properties, so before placing an order, you should first do a small-scale trial run. Measure melt index, ash content, and notch impact yourself; don’t just rely on the supplier’s test report. Second, check the deviation direction. Whether the melt index is too high or too low, or there’s yellowing or poor light transmission, it should match the weaknesses of your product—you shouldn’t use materials with color variations for appearance parts, nor materials with wildly fluctuating melt index for structural parts. Third, check packaging traceability. When secondary brands from reputable manufacturers are released, they come in large and small packages. The original manufacturer’s markings and batch numbers on the bags should match—don’t buy rebranded products pretending to be something they’re not.
