Melt processing temperature is approximately 360–400°C, and it must be dried at ≥150°C for more than 4 hours before molding.

Recycled PEEK (rPEEK) refers to materials that are sorted, washed, and pelletized through twin-screw extrusion from PEEK manufacturing scraps and end-of-life discarded parts for reuse. There are two sources: PIR (post-industrial recycled material, such as machining chips/injection molding sprues/runners, high purity, traceable, and the main source of recycled PEEK, accounting for about 74.8% of the recycled PEEK market) and PCR (post-consumer recycled material, such as discarded aerospace/medical/electronic parts, with mixed origins and high contamination).

1.2 Core Values

1.3 Important Distinctions: PEEK vs PEI vs PPSU

All three have an amber appearance, but their molecular structures and performance characteristics are completely different, and their numbers cannot be used interchangeably. 5 Color System

The natural color of PEEK is a natural light brown/amber. The grade and price generally follow this order: natural unfilled (medical/food grade) at the top → carbon fiber reinforced → glass fiber reinforced → industrial pure material. Recycled materials, because they mostly come from machining scraps and sprue material, are scarce in natural color; most on the market are black or glass fiber reinforced. After downgrading, the price drops sharply.

6.1 Market Size and Competitive Landscape

According to the caliber of brokers/industry chain, the global PEEK market in 2024 is about 6.1 billion RMB, with China accounting for about 1.9 billion RMB. It is expected that the global CAGR from 2024 to 2027 will be about 12%, and China's about 14%. Another consulting company, using 'PEEK resin pellets' as the caliber, gives that the global market in 2024 is about 3.87 billion USD. This caliber covers a wider scope and the figures are relatively higher, so it cannot be directly converted to the RMB-based figures, and the source should be cited when referenced.
