Old Cao's factory is in Ningbo, making medical devices and electroplated parts. Last year, a batch of electroplated-grade orders was canceled, and he stored over two tons of Udel and Ultrason S in the warehouse, stored in the drying warehouse, with new labels. PSU is transparent, heat-resistant, and hydrolyzable. It's a good tool for medical devices, water cups, electroplated parts, and films, with high unit prices. Holding for half a year means holding tens of thousands of yuan. Finance keeps urging for price drops, but he's been dragging it out. He asked around with suppliers, but hardly anyone could tell the PSU grade; all the bids were randomly made as ordinary transparent engineering materials.
Niche materials that even traders have never heard of are the real test for the next buyer. What is
PSU? Polysulfone is transparent, heat-resistant, hydrolyzable, and excellent for medical devices, cups, electroplated parts, and films. But it's very niche, just like the corners of the market—main materials PPSU and PEEK are in high demand, PSU is unknown, but it can still be used as a side dish. This material has a narrow niche, with only medical, electroplating, and film suppliers downstream and high unit prices. Ordinary recyclers can't find a buyer. Obscure materials can't find a buyer, and they depreciate, leaving Old Cao with no way to deal with them. The more he asked, the more disheartened he felt—good materials would really be sold off as ordinary transparent material. He wanted to clear them quickly, but was afraid of being undervalued as ordinary material. He struggled for a while, but the longer he delayed, the more passive he was. The earlier he left, the sooner he was released, the less he was determined, and the longer he delayed, the more he lost. The earlier he asked, the more reliable he was—no loss.
The value of niche materials isn't that no one wants them, but who recognizes them.
If you call a scrap collector, they'll probably treat the PSU like an ordinary transparent engineering material, saying, "Transparent plastic is the same price," and call your plated-grade good materials as regular transparent materials. Half-Buddha replies: It's not that they don't know the quality, it's that this material is beyond their understanding, so they can only test you at the bottom price. They weigh it, say your material will be discounted if left too long, quote a price to hook you before bargaining—this kind of setup turns your good material into a transaction price. To put it bluntly, the fear of unpopular materials is dealing with dealers who "know nothing but dare to buy anything." They buy it and then dump it in their hands, blaming you for poor materials, leaving you with no way to argue. To put it bluntly, the fear of encountering people like this is rare materials.
For materials outside our understanding, dealers will only test you at the lowest price.
Why does Cologne dare to buy this material? Because downstream PSUs have medical and electroplating clients matching them. Grades like Solvay Udel and BASF Ultrason S are directly sourced and diverted without inventory pressure. Niche batches and downgraded materials are processed by our own modified formulas. We price each item by grade, electroplated/medical-grade, and transparent grade, with clear and solid pricing. With our own production capacity plus customer support, we don't change our prices at the last minute. To put it simply, what we earn isn't the price difference from resale, but the money from "recognizing this niche material and delivering it to the target customer."
Only when you recognize this material and have a buyer can we sell it at a higher price.
Five-step process: material submission→ graded evaluation→ on-site pickup→ deduction of payment→ settlement and invoicing. Old Cao's PSU, over two tons of PSU, after evaluation, was converted into KONICE's modified plastic new material quota, which just offset the next batch of medical component material purchases. A certain electroplating parts factory did the same last month, clearing out inventory held for over half a year in one go. You send us the grade, quantity, and photos, and we first estimate the range remotely. We recognize the niche materials, and only arrange an appointment if they seem suitable. You won't have to go for nothing.
Niche Raw Materials Aren't about cutting losses; it's about redeeming the funds you've been holding back.
Grade Point: Syensqo Solvay Udel P-1700, Udel P-3500, BASF Ultrason S 2010, Ultrason S 6010, Ultrason S 2010 G4 are all within the regular recycling range. Recyclable forms include stagnant original packaging, sprue gate materials, electroplated scraps, defective medical cups, and inventory scraps. Dampened and damaged parts are still accepted. We evaluate electroplated and medical-grade separately, no mixing and pressing. Different grades are also calculated separately.
Avoid three pitfalls. First, "Transparent plastics all have the same price," but the truth is that PSUs, as high-temperature resistant materials, are priced differently from ordinary transparent materials. Second, "Niche materials don't fetch a higher price"—the truth is, if you find the right supplier, niche materials are still valuable. 3. "Leave it and wait for the project to restart"—the truth is, just sitting there will only depreciate, and restart is still far off. Less popular materials can't be delayed. Ask early and know the market, so you won't lose out. The sooner you ask, the more reliable you are.
Compliance is sufficient: Proper disposal qualifications are complete, weighbridge and recycling orders are complete, the flow can be traced, can pass environmental audits and ISO audits, and won't go to illegal small workshops. If you have obsolete PSU or electroplated scraps, state the category, grade, quantity, and city of location. For large volumes, come to your door and quote on the same day. Quote first, no rushing to close the deal. Asking more companies won't lose out. Compare quotes first to feel confident, so don't lose out. Quote first. Friends who liked the post will receive a self-inspection sheet for unpopular transparent material inventory. Clear your inventory first—the earlier you get it, the sooner you get it. No loss—quote first, ask with confidence, and won't lose out
