冷门料的痛,不是没人要,是懂它的人太少。
你找个统货商来,他八成分不清Radel和Ultrason P的区别,张口"透明工程塑料都一个价",把你食品医疗级PPSU按普通透明料称。半佛一句:他不是不识货,他是这料超出了他的认知范围,只能拿底价试探你。压秤、说你料放久了要打折、先报个价勾你再砍——这套下来,你那点好料就被当处理价出了。说白了,PPSU这种接触级料,就怕遇到"啥都不懂但啥都敢收"的贩子,他收完转手砸手里,还赖你料不好。
拿"都一个价"糊弄你,本身就是欺负你不懂行。

Old Deng's factory is in Jiaxing, making medical devices and heat-resistant tableware. Last year, a batch of baby bottle orders was canceled. He stored over two tons of Radel and Ultrason P in his warehouse, stored in temperature-controlled warehouses with tightly sealed bags. PPSU is expensive—transparent, heat-resistant, and sterilizable. It's a master for medical devices, tableware, aviation interiors, and baby bottles, with high unit prices. After half a year, he can take up tens of thousands of yuan. Finance keeps urging for price reductions, but he's been dragging it out. He asked around at the suppliers, but hardly anyone recognized the PPSU brand. All the bids were randomly made as ordinary transparent engineering materials.
The more expensive the food, the more medical-grade materials are stored in the warehouse. What is
PPSU? Polyphenyl sulfone is transparent, heat-resistant, and disinfectant, making it a good tool for medical devices, heat-resistant tableware, aviation interiors, and baby bottles. But its value lies in its "food and medical grade"—just like food, if it gets mixed with off-flavors or oil, it loses its contact-grade status. Plus, the material has a narrow niche—downstream are medical, tableware, and airline companies. Ordinary recyclers can't find a buyer. High unit price, niche, and depreciating value—all of these were the first for Old Deng. The more he asked, the colder he felt—good material would really be sold off as ordinary transparent material. He wanted to clear it quickly, but was afraid someone would underestimate it as ordinary material. He hesitated for a long time, but the longer he delayed, the more passive he became. The earlier he left, the sooner he left. If he couldn't make up his mind, the more he lost money.
The pain of niche materials isn't that no one wants them, but that too few people understand them.
You find a wholesaler who doesn't even understand the difference between Radel and Ultrason P, then says, "Transparent engineering plastics are all the same," and calls your food-grade PPSU as ordinary transparent material. He half-replies: It's not that he doesn't know the quality; it's that this material is beyond his understanding, so he can only test you at the base price. Weighing the scale, saying your material will be discounted after sitting too long, quoting a price to hook you before bargaining—this whole setup results in your good quality being treated as a bargain price. To put it bluntly, for PPSU-grade materials, the real risk is dealing with traders who "know nothing but dare to buy anything," and after they buy it, they resell it and blame you for not making good materials.
Trying to fool you with "one price for everyone" is basically bullying you for not knowing the trade.

Five-step process: material reporting → graded evaluation→ on-site receipt→ deduction of payment→ settlement and invoice. Old Deng's more than two tons of PPSU, after evaluation, converted to the quota of KONICE's modified plastic new materials, just enough to offset his next batch of tableware material procurement. A certain medical device factory did the same last month, clearing out inventory held for more than half a year in one go. You send us the grade, quantity, and photos, and we estimate the range remotely, then arrange a visit if it seems suitable. We won't let you go for nothing, only discuss it if it suits you.
Turning dead money into active money is more reliable than waiting for the project to restart.
Grade Point: Syensqo Solvay Radel R-5100, Radel R-5000, Radel R-5800, BASF Ultrason P 3010, Ultrason P 2010, Ultrason P 3010 BMB are all within the standard recycling range. Recyclable forms include stagnant original packaging, sprue gate material, transparent scraps, defective bottle/tableware parts, and inventory scraps. Damaged and damp packaging is still accepted. We evaluate food grade and regular grade separately, no mixing and pressing. Different grades are also calculated separately.
Avoid three pitfalls. First, "Transparent engineering plastics all cost the same"—the truth is that PPSU, a food-medical-grade material, is priced much higher than ordinary transparent materials.
