PMP这东西,聚4-甲基戊烯-1,商品名TPX,说白了就是熔点很高、透明的工程塑料,专做LED反射件、医疗实验器具、FPC离型膜。它娇贵在哪?怕吸潮、怕高温、怕跟别的透明料混。跟透明玻璃试管放久了磨花一个道理——料本身没坏,可吸了潮,注塑的时候就容易出银纹、发雾。更头疼的是PMP单价不低,一托压下去就是好几万,放一年资金成本和仓库租金两头吃。
高端透明工程料一旦吸潮,身价就跟着打折。更头疼的是PMP跟普通透明工程料摆一起,光靠眼睛分不出来,得测熔点和透光率。贩子不懂这套,抓起来捏两下,直接按透明工程料统货给你算,好料卖了个渣价。
说个真事,老曹之前问过一圈收废料的。一听是PMP/TPX,有人直接说"这工程塑料太小众,我们做不了";有人报了个价,等老曹把人叫过来,对方捏了两下袋子,说"你这料放久了吸潮,只能当普通透明工程料收",价格砍下去快三成。老曹想反驳,可人家两手一摊,"你不卖给我,门口排队的人多了去"。
统货商看见小众工程塑料,比看见肥肉还开心——他知道你找不到下家,正好往死里压。他不是来收货的,是来收你的焦虑的。

合作流程走五步:报料、分级评估、上门收货、抵扣货款、结算开票。老曹那批料就是这么处理的——他拍了照发来,标了RT18大概一吨、MX002半吨,我们评估完报了价,约了时间上门过磅。回收款直接抵扣了他下个月采购KONICE改性塑料的货款,抵了差不多一万多。原料间清出一排袋,老曹说那感觉跟清了笔旧账一样舒坦。

目前可回收的PMP牌号,以三井化学TPX RT18、RT31、MX002为主流编号;其余进口和国产牌号以实物评估为准。形态上都收:呆滞原包料、医疗实验器具边角、LED反射件浇口、FPC离型膜边角、库存尾料。透明料别跟有色料混堆,分开装分级价更优。

Old Cao opened a medical precision injection molding factory in Suzhou Industrial Park, producing experimental equipment and LED reflectors for medical device factories. Last month, the client switched the laboratory equipment materials from PMP to ordinary PP. The few bags of Mitsui TPX RT18 and two bags of MX002 in the warehouse had been lying on the pallet for almost a year. A layer of dust had settled on the bags, the labels were still clear, but no one came to pick them up. Old Cao sighed every time he took stock—this material was imported at a high price back then, and now it's piled up like waste plastic.
Medical parts can be replaced at will; PMPs stored in the warehouse won't change them on their own.

PMP this thing, poly4-methylpentene-1, brand name TPX, is basically a high-melting-point, transparent engineering plastic specialized for LED reflectors, medical laboratory instruments, and FPC release films. What makes it so delicate? Afraid of moisture absorption, high temperatures, and mixing with other transparent materials. It's the same as transparent glass test tubes that wear out after being stored for a long time—the material itself isn't bad, but if it absorbs moisture, it tends to show silver lines and fog up during injection molding. What's even more troublesome is that PMP is not cheap—if you press it down, it costs tens of thousands, and you have to cover both capital costs and warehouse rent for a year.
High-end transparent engineering materials absorb moisture, and their value drops accordingly. What's even more troublesome is that when PMP is placed together with ordinary transparent engineering materials, you can't tell by eye alone; melting point and light transmittance must be measured. The dealer didn't understand this trick, grabbed him and squeezed a couple of times, then directly calculated it as a transparent engineering material for you. The good material sold at a junk price.
Let's tell a truth: Old Cao once asked around around waste collectors. When he heard it was PMP/TPX, some people immediately said, "This engineering plastic is too niche, we can't do it." Someone quoted a price, and when Old Cao called them over, the other party pinched the bag twice and said, "Your material has been stored too long and absorbs moisture, so you can only buy it as ordinary transparent construction material," cutting the price by nearly 30%. Old Cao wanted to argue, but the other person shrugged, "If you don't sell to me, there will be a long line at the entrance."
Wholesalers are happier than seeing niche engineering plastics—they know you can't find a buyer, so they're pressing hard for you. They're not here to collect goods, they're here to collect your anxiety.
To put it bluntly, the price they offer is always the price they would sell at a second price.

Pricing is based on light transmittance, heat resistance, and appearance. Clean and transparent materials are priced well, while slightly moisture-absorbent materials are charged as modified transparent materials. With our own production capacity and long-term customers as a backup, our quotes are stable—no price hikes just because your material is niche.

Five-step cooperation process: material submission, grading and evaluation, on-site receipt, deduction of payment, settlement and invoice. That's how Old Cao handled the material—he took photos and sent them, bidding RT18 for about one ton and MX002 for half a ton. After we finished evaluation, quoted the price, and scheduled a time for on-site weighing. The recycling funds were directly used to offset his purchase of KONICE modified plastics next month, totaling nearly 10,000 yuan. After clearing out a row of bags from the raw material room, Old Cao said it felt as satisfying as clearing old debts.
Recycling isn't about selling engineering plastics cheaply; it's about revitalizing the dead money tied to the position. Old Cao later told his peers about this, and they finally understood—it turns out PMP isn't unwanted by anyone, but that they haven't found the right people who actually use it.
Currently, the main recyclable PMP grades are Mitsui Chemicals TPX RT18, RT31, MX002; Other imported and domestic grades are subject to physical appraisal. In terms of form, they collect: obsolete original materials, medical laboratory equipment edges and scraps, LED reflector gates, FPC release film edges and scraps, and inventory scraps. Don't mix transparent materials with colored materials; packing them separately and graded them gives you better prices.
