PBT/ASA为什么难处理?它天生是为了耐户外紫外线做的,ASA那部分就是冲着抗老化去的。可正因为配方特殊,普通回收商根本不知道你手里这袋东西该归到哪一类——当PBT卖亏了,当ASA卖又不对。它跟一件冲锋衣一样,防风防水是靠那层膜,你把膜撕了就成了普通棉布。合金料的价值在配方,配方说不清,价格就只能任人开。再加上单价不低、用量又没纯PBT那么大,二手市场接得住的人屈指可数。
耐候料一旦放久了,耐候本身就是先被牺牲的东西。
再算笔细账:八吨耐候料压半年,资金占用加仓库租金,平摊下来一公斤又掉了好几块。等你想起来处理,袋壁发脆、标签粘住撕不下来,连当初是哪个客户的项目都查不清,评估价还得再打个折。
再说收废料的。你打一圈电话,十个有九个一听PBT/ASA就说"这个料我不熟",第十个假装很熟,报个价低到你想挂电话。统货商碰到自己不懂的合金料,套路出奇一致:先把你说慌,"这料放这么久,性能肯定不行了",然后按统货价收,转手卖给下家再翻一倍。有些更绝,先上门把货看了,回去拖你一个礼拜,接着说"老板那个价真做不了,再让五个点"——你品品,他拖的这一周,你仓库租金又多花了几千。
跟不懂行的人谈价,你报多少都是错的。

Last year, the bumper grille project suddenly changed the material system. Over eight tons of raw material hadn't been opened, just standing at the base of the north wall. After the rainy season, the side of the packaging bag against the wall started to get damp. He asked the warehouse manager to move it, and the manager said, "Mr. Zheng, is this material still usable now?" "Old Zheng squatted down to look at the bag opening but said nothing—he himself wasn't sure."

Stagnant materials aren't stuck in the warehouse, they're stuck in your turnover. Why is
PBT/ASA so hard to handle? It's made to withstand outdoor UV rays, and the ASA part is specifically for anti-aging. But precisely because of the special formula, ordinary recyclers don't know which category your bag belongs to—if you sell PBT at a loss, selling as ASA is wrong. It's like an outdoor jacket—windproof and waterproof thanks to that film, and if you peel off the film, it's just regular cotton fabric. The value of alloy material lies in the formula; if the formula can't be explained, the price can only be set at will. Plus, the unit price isn't low and the usage isn't as large as pure PBT, so only a handful of people can handle the second-hand market.
Once weather-resistant material is stored for too long, its weathering resistance itself is the first thing to sacrifice.
Let's do the detailed calculation: eight tons of weather-resistant material held for half a year, with capital tied up and warehouse rent, means you lose several yuan per kilogram. By the time you think to handle it, the bag walls are brittle, the labels stick and can't be removed, you can't even trace which client's project it was, and the appraised price has to be discounted again.
Now let's talk about the scrap collectors. You make a round call, nine out of ten people say "I'm not familiar with this material" as soon as they hear PBT/ASA, and the tenth person pretends to know it and offers a low price so low you want to hang up. Wholesalers use the same trick when they encounter alloy materials they don't understand: first they scold you, "This material has been stored for so long, its performance must be bad," then they buy at the standard price and resell it to the next supplier for double the price. Some are even worse: they come to inspect the goods, then delay you for a week, then say, "Boss, that price really can't be made, give us another five points"—just think about it, he's dragging it out for a week, and your warehouse rent has increased by several thousand yuan.
Negotiating prices with people who don't understand the industry is always wrong.

After appraisal, it was discounted to a real price, directly offsetting about half of his payment for KONICE's modified material in the second half of the year, leaving the northern wall free that day.

We have received quite a few recyclable PBT/ASA grades. Mainstream grades like BASF Ultradur S4090 G2 BK, which are used for automotive exteriors and extrusion films, are our regular recipients; Other brands and formulations of PBT/ASA alloys are also welcome, subject to actual appraisal. Recyclable forms include obsolete original packaging (both full and loose packs are fine), sprue and gate materials, exterior trim scraps and machine head scraps, resale and defective grille/trim scraps, as well as inventory scraps from project finishes. Clear labeling and single ingredient content can all be negotiated.
Three pitfalls. "Weather-resistant materials won't spoil sitting there?" The truth is that ASA's UV resistance suffers after long-term moisture absorption. "Who sells at whom?" The truth is, dealers who don't understand the formula will take it back and resell it to drive down the price. "Mixing to make a whole truckload easier?" The truth is that alloys mixed with pure materials are only driven down in price; only by sorting them can they be sold at higher prices.
