GPPS这料,通用聚苯乙烯,透明、刚、脆,做透明容器、灯具、食品盒、一次性餐具的,走量极大。可它脆、易裂,放久了更容易发黄变脆,水口料、边角料堆着堆着就碎。
老曾的车间里,每天切下来的GPPS水口料装在编织袋里,沿着墙根堆了一排。透明料干净的时候很值钱,可一旦和杂色料混装,透明度就花了。
GPPS量大、流通快,痛点也实在:牌号多易混、透明料怕黄、水口料堆车间占资金。
呆滞料不是资产,是趴在账上的负债。
GPPS是注塑车间走量靠前的透明通用料之一,也是呆滞料的重灾区。它流动性好、易成型,订单走量快,可采购一备多、订单一黄,就压仓库。
GPPS发黄变脆,跟白纸放久了泛黄一样——本来透亮的白,搁久了发乌发脆,做透明餐具客户直接拒收。原包料开袋吸潮,回炉前不烘透,制品表面就出银丝、发雾。
车间里要命的还是牌号杂。透明级、高流动级、食品接触级混着装袋,工人哪分得清?一混,透明度和刚性都打问号。更现实的是占资金,GPPS一吨几千块,压个十来吨也是一笔活钱。
透明料的价值,全在那个"净"字上,脏一点、黄一点都掉价。
老曾找过收料的。贩子抓起料粒对着灯看两眼,说"透明料嘛,统货价",完全不管你是奇美PG-33还是台化GP5250。老曾心里那个气——他知道这里面有价差,可说不过人家。
说白了,统货商收GPPS就一个套路:先看亮不亮,不亮就往死里压。他才不管你食品级还是普通级,反正转手卖统货。
有些贩子看透明料,跟收破烂的看酒瓶一样——只看完整不完整,不看是什么牌子。

Old Zeng works in Yuyao, Ningbo, making transparent daily necessities and disposable tableware. The workshop has an injection molding machine that produces GPPS work year-round. Last month, an order for disposable tableware was cut at the last minute, and two trays of raw GPPS material in the warehouse, like Chimei PG-33, were suddenly crushed.
GPPS this material, general polystyrene, transparent, rigid, and brittle, used for transparent containers, lamps, food boxes, and disposable tableware, the volume is huge. But it's brittle and cracks easily, and after a long time, it turns yellow and brittle. The sprue material and scraps crumble over time.
Old Zeng's workshop, the daily cut GPPS sprue material is packed into woven bags and stacked along the wall. Transparent materials are valuable when clean, but once mixed with mixed colored materials, their transparency is wasted.
GPPS large volumes and fast circulation also have real pain points: many grades make them easy to mix, transparent materials are sensitive to yellowing, and the sprue material is piled up in the workshop to take up capital.
Obsolete material is not an asset, but a liability lying on the books.
GPPS is one of the highest-selling transparent general-purpose materials in injection molding workshops and also a major hotspot for obsolete materials. It has good liquidity and easy molding, orders move quickly, and you can buy a lot at once; once an order is yellowed, it gets stuck in the warehouse.
GPPS yellows and becomes brittle, just like white paper that turns yellow after sitting for a long time—the originally bright white turns black and brittle, and customers making transparent tableware directly reject it. Raw packaging absorbs moisture when opened, and if not thoroughly baked before re-oven, silver threads and fog appear on the surface.
The real problem in the workshop is the mixed grades. Transparent grade, high flow grade, and food contact grade are mixed for bagging—how can workers tell the difference? Once mixed, transparency and rigidity are questionable. More realistically, it takes up capital—GPPS costs thousands per ton, and even a dozen tons is still a source of income.
The value of transparent material lies entirely in the word "clean"—any dirtiness or yellow depreciates.
Lao Zeng once contacted the collector. Dealers grabbed the material pellets and glanced at the light, saying, "Transparent grade, it's a unified price," regardless of whether it's Chimei PG-33 or Taiwan Chemical GP5250. Old Zeng was furious—he knew there was a price difference here, but he couldn't argue with them.
To put it bluntly, wholesalers have one trick when collecting GPPS: first check if it's bright, then press it hard. They don't care if you're food-grade or regular-grade; anyway, they'll resell it as a bulk product.
Some dealers look at transparent materials like junk buyers look at wine bottles—only checking if they're complete, not the brand.

Telling a true story. Last year, a factory in Ningbo that made transparent tableware had about 8 tons of raw GPPS material mixed with a pile of sprue material, and orders were cut and suppressed. On this trip, they first separated the transparent material from the mixed color: the translucent ones without yellowing were modified transparent, the yellowed ones were downgraded and absorbed, and the reclaimed amount was directly offset against the next batch of KONICE goods, about half offset. The row of woven bags in the warehouse was cleaned out, and the forklift aisle was returned.
Good materials aren't afraid of not being picked up; the fear is selling good materials as scrap.
