Lao Gao's factory is in Taizhou, making wire wrapping and pipe linings. Last year, a batch of non-stick coating orders was canceled, and he stored over three tons of Teflon FEP and NEOFLON in the warehouse, stored in the drying silo with the bag sealed tightly. FEP is expensive—one kilogram is worth several times more than ordinary plastic. After half a year, the bag is nearly a hundred thousand yuan in pressure. Finance keeps urging for price drops, but he keeps dragging it out. This batch feels like a heavy stone weighing on his heart. The warehouse manager says this material occupies a temperature-controlled silo and costs a lot. He wants to clear it out quickly but is afraid someone will treat it like ordinary fluorine material, so he's very conflicted.
The more expensive the material, the more money it burns when stored in the warehouse. What is
FEP? Vinyl propylene fluoride is related to PTFE, can be melt-processed, chemically resistant, non-stick, and excels at wire wrapping, films, pipe linings, and non-stick coatings. But its value lies in its "purity"—like pure milk, mixed with off-odors and oil, its non-stick grade can't be maintained. Plus, the material has a narrow circle, with downstream industries like cables, linings, and coatings. Ordinary recyclers can't find buyers. High unit price, niche, devalued by default—all are taken by the highest. He asked around the collectors, but none could tell the FEP grade—they all blindly labeled it as ordinary fluoroplastic. Only then did he realize that pure FEP wasn't unwanted by anyone, but too few understood it, so if you picked the wrong supplier, you'd be sold cheaply. After asking around, the more he asked, the more disheartened he felt—pure material was really going to be burned like firewood.
The pain of niche materials isn't that no one wants them, but that too few people understand them.
You call a scrap collector, who looks at the bag for ages and can't tell the difference between Teflon FEP and NEOFLON, then says, "Fluoroplastics are all the same price." He half-replies: He's not deliberately suppressing the material; he really doesn't know who should give it to, so he can only use you as a mere amount. Weighing the weight, saying your material has dust and wants to deduct impurities, quoting a price to hook you before cutting — with this whole setup, your good material gets treated as a clearance price. To put it bluntly, pure FEP material is just afraid of encountering a dealer who "knows nothing but dares to buy anything." After he buys it, he dumps it and then blames you for poor quality.
Trying to fool you with "one price for all" is basically bullying you for not knowing the trade.
Cologne does FEP for the right market. We have cable and liner customers downstream who receive this material; Chemours Teflon FEP and Daikin NEOFLON grades are distributed the same day without inventory pressure. Niche batches and downgraded materials go into their own modified formulas for digestion, regardless of brand or batch. We price by grade, film/coating grade, and purity by item, with clear and solid pricing, not a one-size-fits-all approach. With our own production capacity plus customer backing, we don't change our options on the spot during market fluctuations. Simply put, what we earn is not the price difference from resale, but the money from "recognizing this material and delivering it to the target customers."
Those who can handle pure materials need to have the next supplier with pure materials.
Five-step process: material submission→ graded evaluation→ on-site pickup→ deduction of payment→ settlement and invoice. Old Gao's more than three tons of FEP, after evaluation, converted to KONICE's modified plastic new material quota, which just offset the next batch of cable material procurement. A non-stick coating factory did the same last month: weighed on the same day, paid on the same day, and the pressure that had been held for over half a year was temporarily relaxed. You send us the grade, quantity, and photos, and we estimate the range remotely. If it seems suitable, we can arrange an appointment at home, so you don't have to make a wasted trip. Wait until it feels right.
Qing Dullness isn't about cutting losses, it's about redeeming the dead money on the account.
Grade Point: Chemours Teflon FEP 100, Teflon FEP 6100, Teflon FEP 9494, Daikin NEOFLON FEP NP-120, NEOFLON FEP NP-21 are all within the standard recycling range; Other grades such as 3M Dyneon FEP, AGC Fluon FEP, and Shandong Dongyue FEP are subject to physical appraisal. Recyclable forms include obsolete original packaging, film scraps, cable cladding sprue material, defective lining/coating parts, and inventory scraps. Damaged packaging and moisture will be accepted as usual. We evaluate film and coating grades separately, no mixing or pressing.
Avoid three pitfalls. First, "Fluoroplastics all have the same price"—the truth is the price difference between FEP and PTFE is quite significant. Second, "Leave it alone and it won't spoil" — the truth is, if it gets oily or contaminated, it gets downgraded. Third, "whoever sells to whom the higher price is" — the truth is that you bargain on the scale, and the price is even worse than the three companies. For pure materials, you need to find the right person. First, ask us one thing: don't lose out, don't lose out.
Compliance is enough: Proper disposal qualifications are complete, weighbridge and recycling forms are complete, the flow can be traced, and they pass environmental audits and ISO audits, no going to illegal small workshops. If you have FEP obsolete or film scraps, report the category, grade, quantity, and city. Large volumes come to your door, same-day quotation. Quote first, no rushing to close the deal, feel free to ask, no rushing to close the deal. Ask one more company, and the price difference will be obvious, no loss. Friends who like the post will receive a FEP inventory self-check checklist
