EVA这料,乙烯醋酸乙烯共聚物,做发泡鞋材、电缆料、热熔胶、光伏胶膜的,走量极大。可它VA含量从十几到四十几,牌号多得数不清,车间里水口料一混,谁也分不清谁。
老曹的车间里,每天切下来的EVA水口料装在编织袋里,沿着墙根堆了一排。仓管跟他抱怨,说再堆下去叉车都过不去了。
EVA量大、流通快,痛点也实在:牌号多易混、水口料堆车间、呆滞料压资金。
呆滞料不是资产,是趴在账上的负债。
EVA是注塑和发泡车间走量靠前的弹性体之一,也是呆滞料的重灾区。它本身不娇气,问题是牌号太杂。你仓库里堆的可能是台塑7350M发泡级、7470M高VA电缆料,扬巴V5110J薄膜级、V6110M电缆级,还有客户改配方剩下的热熔胶级。VA含量差几个点,用途就完全不同,价格也差一大截。
EVA放久了发黄发硬,跟发面皮放久了一样——本来软软糯糯,搁久了发干发脆,发泡倍率就不稳。原包料开袋吸潮,回炉发泡,泡孔不均,客户直接退。
车间里要命的还是混料。发泡级、电缆级、热熔胶级水口料长得像,工人图省事往一个袋里倒。一混,VA含量说不清,下游不敢收。
弹性体的贵,贵在VA含量上,混掉了就一文不值。
老曹找过收料的。贩子抓起料粒一看,说"这不就是发泡料嘛,统货价",完全不管你是7470M高VA还是7350M发泡。老曹心里那个气——他知道这里面有价差,可说不过人家。
说白了,统货商收EVA就一个套路:先看颜色,不黄就压价,黄了更往死里压。他才不管你VA多少,反正转手卖统货。
有些贩子看EVA,跟收废品的看泡沫鞋一样——只看软硬,不看是发泡还是电缆级。

Old Cao works in Yuyao, Ningbo, making shoe foaming and cable materials. The workshop runs the foaming and extruder machines year-round, and EVA is a bulk material that comes in daily volume. Last month, a batch of shoe material orders was cut at the last minute. Two trays of EVA raw packaging material from Formosa Plastics were suddenly put under pressure in the warehouse.
EVA this material, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, used for foamed shoe materials, cable materials, hot melt adhesives, and photovoltaic films, the volume is huge. But its VA content ranges from the teens to the forties, with so many grades that it's impossible to count. When the sprue material is mixed in in the workshop, no one can tell who is who.
Old Cao's workshop, the EVA sprue material cut daily is packed into woven bags and piled along the wall in a row. The warehouse manager complained to him, saying if they kept piling up, even forklifts wouldn't be able to get through.
EVA large volume and fast circulation, the pain points are real: too many grades are easy to mix, sprue material is piled up in the workshop, and obsolete material is squeezing funds.
Obsolete material is not an asset, it's a liability lying on the books.
EVA is one of the top elastomers in volume in injection molding and foaming workshops, and also a major disaster zone for obsolete materials. It's not delicate by itself; the problem is the grades are too mixed. Your warehouse might be stocked with Formosa 7350M foam grade, 7470M high VA cable grade, Yangba V5110J film grade, V6110M cable grade, plus hot melt glue grade left over from customer recipe changes. A few points difference in VA content means a completely different use and a big price difference.
EVA keeps it for too long, it turns yellow and hard, just like fermented dough dough after being left for too long—originally soft and glutinous, but becomes dry and brittle, and the foaming rate becomes unstable. The original packaging absorbs moisture when opened, foams after reheating, and the bubble holes are uneven, so the customer returns it directly.
The real problem in the workshop is the mixed material. Foam-grade, cable-grade, and hot melt glue-grade sprue materials look similar, so workers just pour them into one bag for convenience. Once mixed, the VA content is unclear, and downstream buyers don't dare to buy it.
The price of elastomers lies in the VA content; once mixed out, it's worthless.
Old Cao has contacted the material collectors. The dealer picked up the material and said, "This is foam material, standard price," regardless of whether it's 7470M high-VA or 7350M foam. Old Cao was frustrated—he knew there was a price difference here, but he couldn't argue with them.
To put it bluntly, wholesalers buy EVA with one trick: first look at the color, if it's not yellow, they bargain even more, and if it's yellow, they push even harder. They don't care how much VA you have, just resell the wholesale goods.
Some dealers look at EVA like recyclers judge foam shoes—only about the hardness and softness, not whether it's foam or cable grade.

Tell a true story. Last year, a factory in Ningbo specializing in shoe foaming had about 8 tons of raw EVA raw material mixed with a pile of sprue material, and the customer cut orders to suppress it. On our trip, we first separated foam grade and cable grade by VA content. Those without yellowing were modified for shoe material, mild yellowing was downgraded and absorbed, and the recovered amount was directly offset against the next batch of QUANICE elastomers, about half offset. The row of woven bags in the workshop was cleaned up, and the forklift aisle was back.
Good materials aren't afraid of not having buyers; what's scary is selling good materials as waste.
EVA the grades we are familiar with: Formosa Plastics 7350M, 7470M, 7360M; mainstream elastomer grades like Yangba V5110J, V6110M; other grades are subject to physical appraisal.
Recyclable forms: stagnant original packaging, foamed sprue material, cable scraps, defective scrap parts, and inventory residual materials. Special reminder—EVA sprue material must be bagged according to VA content; mixing in elastomer will eliminate the premium.
