Once the PC section absorbs water, during injection molding, it hydrolyzes and turns silvery lines, and the impact strength drops sharply. What's even more troublesome is that alloy materials are customized by product—flame-retardant, high-gloss, low warpage—each has its own material. Dealers buy materials regardless of model—one ton is worth a ton per ton. ABS/PC absorbs moisture like a layer of mist on the surface of new leather shoes—it doesn't look serious, but you can't wipe away the mark.

Let me tell a true story. A boss called in a wholesaler, who picked up a grain of alloy and rubbed it, said it was oily or had an incorrect flame retardant rating, and charged at floor price. The wholesaler's calculations were even sharper than your accountant's—he collected it and mixed it into low-end appliance shells, added toughening agents if toughness was insufficient, and the case cracked after two drops, pocketing the price difference. Think about it, what he said was useless—not because he really had no clients, but because he didn't have laptops or automakers himself. Some dealers were even worse, not even testing flame retardant ratings, mixing CYCOLOY and generic alloys into a truckload.
Wholesalers aren't helping you deal with scrap, they're using your good materials to make up for their inferior materials.

Recyclable forms include obsolete original packaging (whole pallets or loose packs), laptop shell sprue material, dashboard gate material, extrusion gate material, pelletizer head material, scrap parts, and inventory scrap. Moisture-absorbing pellets should be dried and sampled separately; don't mix them with new pellets in the same bag.
To be honest, ABS/PC is expensive, and holding it in the warehouse yields a lot of interest for a day. You might think drying it can make laptop casings, but once the PC segment hydrolyzes, the impact strength drops off rapidly, cracking after two drops. While the quota is still good, find someone familiar with cars and electronic parts to pick it up.
Say a few words at the last minute to avoid pitfalls. Is recycling really selling cheap? The truth is, you sell by grade and grade—good materials can be sold at good prices.
