1. Misunderstanding: Everyone says PTFE is the king of plastics, so why does the sub-brand material leak as soon as it enters the machine?
Many buyers have a misunderstanding about PTFE: this material is acid-alkali and high-temperature resistant, and its properties are tough, so there's not much difference between second-brand and second-brand materials. But when brought to the factory for sealing and lining, a batch of products has incorrect flow, resulting in inflated density after molding, and the pressure resistance test causes direct leakage. The problem isn't with PTFE itself, but with many people not understanding it—the performance of the 'plastic king' is precisely determined by every metric. Whichever sub-brand material is lacking, that's where the product fails.
Domestic PTFE second-brand has circulated quite a lot in recent years, but few people have truly tested it. Today, let's put the three leading domestic brands—Dongyue, Juhua, and Zhonghao Morning Light—on the table, explaining how to verify secondary brands to avoid failure.
2. Who supplies domestic PTFE: The three major families account for most of China's production capacity
PTFE, commonly known as the king of plastics, is chemically corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant, has a low friction coefficient, and is used everywhere for sealing, lining, cable insulation, and coatings. This category has concentrated domestic capacity, with the top three holding significant shares.
Dongyue Group is the domestic leader in PTFE, with a complete chain from fluorite, hydrofluoric acid, PTFE monomers to PTFE resin and membrane materials. Its PTFE capacity is among the top globally, with deep presence in the electronics sector. Juhua Co., Ltd. is a long-established state-owned fluorochemical enterprise with a complete range of fluoropolymer products, including various grades of suspension and disperse. In addition to its existing PTFE capacity, there are expansion projects underway. Zhonghao Chenguang is backed by the Haohua Technology system and is located in Zigong, Sichuan. Relying on its proprietary patented technology, its PTFE resin production capacity remains among the top in China, with specialties in disperse resin and pressed materials. These three companies are the most mainstream sources for domestic PTFE sub-brands.
3. The Secret of PTFE Sub-Brands: Not all "cheap PTFE" are called sub-brands
PTFE The concept of sub-brands is the same as other plastics: if the primary particles from the same manufacturer and grade are polymerized and some indicators fail to meet the standard standard during factory inspection, they are sub-brands. Common floating points of PTFE are particle size distribution, apparent density, melt viscosity, and thermal stability, which directly determine density and mechanical properties after sintering.
Boundaries must be clear: genuine brands meet all indicators to meet high sealing and high purity conditions; Secondary brands have slight fluctuations in some indicators, suitable for general sealing, lining, and standard insulating parts; Return and sprue materials have undergone a thermal cycle, molecular weight has decreased, and cannot be used for high-demand parts; Recycled materials come from mixed sources and are only used in low-end fillers. PTFE, a material sensitive to density, mixing secondary and recycled materials is like planting a mine for seals.
4. Dongyue Group: Low cost across the entire industry chain, mainstream base in the secondary brand
Dongyue Group PTFE follows vertical integration across the entire industry chain, from Fluorite all the way to resin and film, with cost control capabilities among the industry's leaders. Its grades cover multiple series including suspension resin, disperse resin, and compression material, and Dongyue sub-brand material appears frequently in the circulation market.
At the sub-brand level, Dongyue's materials have a complete industrial chain, ample supply, and relatively negotiable price range, making them suitable for general sealing gaskets, linings, and ordinary insulating parts that require balanced overall performance but do not require high-purity electronic grade. Note that electronic grade and ordinary industrial grade are two separate lines; when buying secondary brands, first confirm which type you want.
5. Juhua Co., Ltd.: A complete range of products, a stable choice for industrial-grade sub-brands
Juhua Co., Ltd. is a state-owned enterprise in the entire fluorochemical industry chain, with a full range of TFE, HFP, VDF, PTFE, FEP varieties, and leads the industry in fluoropolymer production capacity and varieties. Its PTFE covers multiple suspended and dispersed grades, while also extending into high-end directions such as semiconductor-grade, automotive, and lithium battery coatings.
Juhua's sub-brand materials are characterized by standardized grades and complete batch records, making them friendly to industrial parts manufacturers who require stable supply. For industrial linings, general seals, and coating base materials, Juhua's sub-brand is a reliable choice.
6. Zhonghao Chenguang: Tech-oriented, with unique expertise in disperse resin
Zhonghao Chenguang is located in Zigong, Sichuan, relying on the Haohua technology system and holding over sixty core patented technologies. After the new PTFE unit was put into operation, production capacity reached a new level, and it has its own technical accumulation in disperse resin and press-pressed materials.
At the sub-brand level, Zhonghao Chenguang's materials have a solid foundation in fibers, films, and press-pressed products that require specific processing fluidity. If your products follow processes like dispersed impregnation or fine-diameter press-pressed pipes, Zhonghao Chenguang's sub-brand is worth comparing.
7. PTFE sub-brand acceptance: density, particle size, thermal stability—none of these should be neglected .
First, check the factory inspection report—apparent density, particle size distribution, and melt viscosity must match your molding process to ensure sintering shrinkage rate. Second, keep samples by batch. The taboo for PTFE sub-brands is buying large batches at once without keeping samples. If there is a problem with the product, you can't even tell which batch or which indicator fluctuates. Third, use the usage line. For high-purity semiconductor, medical, and high-seal certified parts, insist on using genuine brands; For general industrial sealing, lining, and insulating parts, sub-brands are more cost-effective. During mold trials, do small samples first for sintering, measure density, and then scale up.
Cologne Warehouse Stock
Cologne Warehouse PTFE stock, mainly promoting three leading domestic sources: Dongyue Group, Juhua Co., and Zhonghao Chenguang, with main grades covering suspension resin, disperse resin, and pressed materials, with a full range of large and small packaging specifications. Warehouse stock is usually between 2000-5000 tons. Among them, small parcel sub-brand stocks are 300-600 tons, boxed sub-brand stocks are 150-300 tons, and large and ton-pack materials are 1500-4100 tons. Samples are retained by batch for traceable organization, with samples and factory records kept for each batch. For sealing and lining material sourcing, first reserve samples to match indicators, then discuss placing orders.
Eight, Four-Phrase Mnemonic: Plus a Sintering Test for a Zhangzhou Customer
How to Inspect Domestic PTFE Sub-Brand, Four-Phrase Mnemonic: First, check the factory list, and check the density and particle size item by item; Second, keep batch samples; if there are issues, check backwards; Third, sort by application; don't touch sub-brands for high-purity parts; Fourth, sinter small samples first, ensure density passes, then ramp up.
A factory in Zhangzhou specializing in chemical lining and sealing parts previously bought a batch of unknown PTFE at a low price. After sintering, the lining showed micro-holes, pressure resistance test leaks, and the whole batch was reworked. Later, they switched to transferring Dongyue secondary brands from the warehouse, retaining samples by batch. Upon arrival, apparent density and melt viscosity were first tested, and only after passing were they sintered on the line. The lining density stabilized, the cost per kilogram was lower than the genuine brand, and the rework rate was almost zero. Their current approach is to use the official brand for certified parts, the sub-brand for the usual lining, and batch sampling is continuous
