The fluoroplastics circle has an old hierarchy: PTFE and FEP are familiar with the market, while ETFE, which is expensive and requires a demanding process, has long been pushed to the bottom of the list. Domestic resins can't produce decent resins, so photovoltaic backsheet films can only be imported. Dongyue Group developed ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer resin and passed scientific and technological appraisal, which then loosened the chain. To understand domestic ETFE sub-brands, we have to start with Dongyue's well. What is

ETFE? The domestic

ETFE is ethylene-PTFE copolymer, a rare melt-processable type among fluoroplastics. It is weather-resistant, chemical-resistant, radiation-resistant, and has high mechanical strength. It is used in photovoltaic backsheet films, building ETFE membrane structures, high-speed rail interior coatings, and wire insulation. Global ETFE was originally led by Daikin, DuPont, and others. Domestically, Dongyue Group has completed the development of ethylene-PTFE copolymer resin, forming three product series: DS405, DS4051, and DS406. Its production technology has passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, reaching an internationally advanced level, and has been recognized as a single champion in Shandong Province. The entire chain from PTFE monomer to copolymer is independently controllable. Juhua Co., Zhonghao Chenguang, and others are simultaneously deploying in the fluororesin sector. In terms of the full chain and serialization of ETFE resin, Dongyue Group is an unavoidable leader in this domestic market. Downstream, photovoltaic backsheet membranes and building membrane structures are the main scenarios, while high-speed rail interiors and wire insulation are the extension directions. Photovoltaic installations have boosted demand for ETFE backsheet membranes in recent years. After the domestic Dongyue DS series passed appraisal, downstream film manufacturers began mass-testing domestic materials, and ETFE sub-brands circulated accordingly, breaking the previous situation of non-imported use. Where do

ETFE sub-brands come from, and how do they differ from PTFE and FEP

ETFE sub-brands come from copolymer device start-stop materials, grade switching transition materials, process fluctuations, fluctuation of melting fingers, or batches with slight color deviations. They are still original ETFE particles from Dongyue, with weather resistance and mechanical framework consistent with genuine products, with slight fluctuations in some indicators, not recycled materials. ETFE must be distinguished from PTFE and FEP: PTFE cannot be melt-processed and depends on molding; FEP is meltable but relatively soft; ETFE has high mechanical strength and radiation resistance, making it suitable for films and coatings. Don't use FEP to match ETFE for photovoltaic backsheet films; strength and weather resistance are far inferior. ETFE sub-brands are classified by melting index and hue; film grade is sensitive to uniform thickness and weather resistance, and melting index must be measured before planting.

In-depth Profile of Leading Companies: Dongyue Group

Dongyue Group headquarters is in Zibo, Shandong, a leading domestic fluoromaterial company, with a leading PTFE production capacity. Dongyue Future Hydrogen Energy Company specializes in high value-added fluororesins such as ETFE. Its confidence in ETFE lies in the full chain—high-quality PTFE monomers with independent control, high-purity tertiary copolymer monomers and surfactants, DS405, DS4051, DS406 series coating and coating applications, and products used in photovoltaic backsheet membranes and building film structures. Its sub-brand mainly comes from copolymer parking and grade switching; the melt fingers are slightly fluttering and the hue is slightly deeper, but its weathering and mechanical framework are the same system as the genuine brand. For general photovoltaic backsheets, non-building-grade films, and coating materials, the sub-brand offers clear cost-effectiveness as a substitute for imported ETFE. In the second tier, Juhua Co. is conducting pilot tests of ETFE special resins in Quzhou, Zhonghao Mingguang is building a high-performance organic fluorine material line in Zigong, and from full-chain monomers to resin series, Dongyue is still the representative and only serves as industry background. Photovoltaic backsheet films have high requirements for weather resistance and hydrolysis resistance. Dongyue has independently developed PTFE monomers, tertiary copolymer monomers, and surfactants, effectively controlling several variables that most affect ETFE batch stability. This is the confidence behind the DS series passing scientific and technological achievement appraisals.

ETFE Avoid pitfalls when selecting sub-brands

First, direct sourcing from the original factory. ETFE is expensive and fluororesin carries a high risk of adulteration, so the original factory packaging must have a batch number. Second, test melting index and tensile strength; film grade is sensitive to uniform thickness and strength. Third, use genuine certification parts for building film and photovoltaic backsheet weather-resistant parts; sub-brands are used for general coatings and non-main load-bearing films. Fourth, fluororesin processing temperatures are high; sub-brands test at recommended temperatures to avoid degradation. Fifth, drying: ETFE has low moisture absorption, but it is still recommended to dry and remove moisture before forming. Additionally, ETFE melt has high viscosity; test the sub-brand film according to recommended extrusion temperature and traction speed; if the pressure is low, the thickness will be uneven. Weather resistance claims rely on long-term UV aging data; sub-brands should not directly make the main water-covered film for buildings. When purchasing, distinguish between extrusion grade and coating grade. The two have different melt fingers and additive formulas; using coating grade to blow the film can easily cause holes. Before ordering, check the grade according to the product manufacturing process.

Cologne Warehouse In Stock

Cologne Warehouse Stock Main recommended brand: Dongyue Group DS405/DS406 series ETFE fluororesin sub-brand materials. Main grades: photovoltaic backsheet film, building film structure, wire insulation melt-processed fluoroplastic special materials. Packaging specifications: Both small and large packages (per ton bags) are stocked. Warehouse stock is usually 3000-6000 tons, with small sub-brand stocks at 500-800 tons, sub-brand containerized at 200-400 tons, and large packages/ton bags at 2500-4800 tons. Supply guarantee: Direct procurement from the original factory and packaging, shipped directly from the factory to warehouse, no handover in between, each batch is inspected and numbered at the factory. Customers for photovoltaic film, construction film, and coatings can request product type quotes.
