很多人以为做眼镜架的"板材"就是普通塑料,便宜、批量注塑、谁家都能做。
真相恰恰相反——一副戴得住、不变形、不褪色的高端板材镜架,主料是醋酸纤维素(CA)。这东西看着像塑料,本质是把天然棉花(纤维素)用醋酸酯化改出来的,贵的时候比你手上的镜框还金贵。
更反常识的是,CA正牌片材一吨价不低,小厂又不敢碰副牌——怕色差飘、怕成型翘、怕客户戴俩月镜框发黄。
说白了,CA不是"塑料眼镜框"那种廉价货,是光学和板材行业里讲究手感和色泽的精细料。这篇把CA副牌说透。
CA是棉花变的,不是石油炼的
CA学名醋酸纤维素,是纤维素酯家族里最老的一个。
它跟塑料最大的区别是底子——原料是木浆或棉短绒里的纤维素,经过醋酸酐酯化,把羟基变成醋酸酯基,再调塑化剂、成片、切粒。所以它可再生、可降解方向友好,而且透光、手感温润、上色均匀,这是石油基塑料给不了的。
它能干什么?眼镜架板材(俗称"板材框")、照相胶片基片、香烟滤嘴丝束、印刷油墨片基、玩具和工具手柄。
全球格局集中度很高。按产能和市场份额口径,国外前三家是这三家:
第一梯队是美国伊士曼(Eastman),醋酸纤维素领域全球份额约三成五,主打注塑级和板材级,眼镜架、工具手柄都是它的主场。

副牌不是降级,是乙酰基化验单上贴了线
那CA副牌怎么来的?
定义还是那一套:同一厂家同一牌号,出厂检验时个别指标没完全踩到达标线,合格的贴正牌,没完全达标的就是副牌。原厂原生粒子,不是回炉再造。
四大来源:装置开停车头尾料、牌号切换过渡料、工艺波动致乙酰基含量或粘度小幅超标的批次、副线尾料。

CA的特殊点在于:它的手感、光泽、上色都跟乙酰基含量和粘度挂钩,副牌往往就差在这两项,色差ΔE偶尔飘一点。
伊士曼,板材镜架料的代名词
先说伊士曼。这家是CA行业绕不开的名字。
它的醋酸纤维素片材在眼镜架圈子里几乎是标杆,注塑级牌号做工具手柄、牙刷柄、文具。它的优势是批次色泽稳、上色均匀,客户调色不用反复试。
它的副牌长什么样?多数是色差ΔE略大一点、或者粘度落档半级的料。分子结构没换,压出来的片材手感跟正牌一个路子,只是做高透、高匀色的高端镜架就挑出来了。
用在哪?中端镜架、工具手柄、刷柄、普通配色件。这些场合对色泽均匀度要求没到顶,副牌刚好。
大赛璐,光学片和高纯度那条线
再说日本大赛璐。这家走的是高纯和光学路线。
它的醋酸纤维素在照相胶片基片、偏光片三醋酸纤维素片(TAC)上有积累,对残留单体和杂质控制极严。
它的副牌,常见是残留指标贴线、或者乙酰基含量贴在临界值的批次。跟伊士曼副牌比,大赛璐的副牌更偏"纯度边缘料"——不是脏,是化验单上某项贴了边。
用在哪?普通注塑件、对纯度要求没到光学级的镜架内框、装饰件。它的副牌在普通配色镜架上很好用。
Cerdia,从塞拉尼斯拆出来的精细派
第三家是瑞士Cerdia。这家很多人没听过,但它出身不差——原是塞拉尼斯的醋酸纤维业务,后来拆分独立。
它专注醋酸纤维素片和丝束,走精细、小批量、定制化路线。副牌多为配套特定客户规格时产生的过渡料,或者塑化剂含量小幅波动的批次。
用在哪?中高端镜架板材、特殊配色件。Cerdia的副牌流通量小,但碰到对路的色号,性价比很可观。
CA副牌不是镜架料降级,是乙酰基含量差了零点零几
CA副牌怎么挑?几个实在坑。
第一,先对色差。CA副牌最常翻的车就是色差——同一批料做出来的镜架,左框右框两个色号,客户直接退。进厂先比色、看ΔE,别光看料袋上的牌号。
第二,问清用途。高透、高匀色的高端镜架上正牌;普通配色、半架、内框,副牌够用。别拿副牌硬怼高端配色。
第三,试压片再批量。CA是热塑性片材,先小试压片看光泽和翘曲,没问题再开大料。
三亚有家做板材眼镜架的客户,之前用了批来路不明的"进口CA副牌",结果同批料色差飘得厉害,装配线上左右镜框对不上色,退货率11%。后来换成伊士曼同牌号副牌,每批先压片比色、留样对标,色差投诉降到0.4%。

Many people think the "plate" for making frames is just ordinary plastic, cheap, mass-molded, and anyone can make it.
The truth is quite the opposite—a high-end plate frame that can be worn without deformation or fading is mainly made from cellulose acetate (CA). This thing looks like plastic, but it's essentially made by esterifying natural cotton (cellulose) with acetate. When it's expensive, it's even more valuable than the frames you have.
Even more counterintuitive is that genuine CA plates cost quite a ton, and small factories don't dare to touch the secondary brands—fear of color differences, peeling of molding, and concerns that the frames will turn yellow after two months of wear.
To put it bluntly, CA isn't cheap "plastic frames"—it's a fine material in the optics and panel industry that emphasizes feel and color. This article thoroughly explains CA's secondary brands.
CA is made from cotton, not from petroleum refining
CA scientifically called cellulose acetate, and is the oldest in the cellulose ester family.
The biggest difference between it and plastic is the base — the raw material is cellulose from wood pulp or cotton lint, which is then esterified with acetic anhydride, converting hydroxyl groups into acetate groups, then mixing plasticizers, forming sheets, and pelletizing. Therefore, it is renewable, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly, with a light transmission, a warm feel and even coloring—something petroleum-based plastics cannot provide.
What can it do? Eyeglass frame sheets (commonly called "sheet frames"), photographic film bases, cigarette filter tow bundles, printing ink bases, toys, and tool handles.
Global presence is highly concentrated. By capacity and market share, the top three foreign companies are these three:
The first tier is Eastman from the US, with about 35% global share in cellulose acetate, focusing on injection-molded and sheet grades, with eyeglass frames and tool handles as its main markets.
The second tier is Japan's Daicel, with a 12% market share and accumulation in optical wafers and high-purity cellulose acetate.
The third tier is Swiss company Cerdia (formerly an independent entity spun off from Celanese cellulose acetate), focusing on cellulose acetate sheets and tows, pursuing a refined approach.
These three companies tightly label high-end CA sheets and grades.
The secondary label isn't downgrade; it's the acetyl test report with a line attached .
So how did the CA secondary label come about?
The definition is the same: same manufacturer, same grade. If some indicators don't fully meet the marking line during factory inspection, the qualified ones are labeled with the official label; those that don't fully meet the standard are the secondary label. Original factory original particles, not remanufactured in the furnace.
The four main sources: starting and stopping the plant, tail materials from the plant start-and-stop, grade switching transition materials, batch batches with slightly excessive acetyl content or viscosity due to process fluctuations, and auxiliary line tail materials.

CA The special feature of its hand feel, gloss, and coloring is related to acetyl content and viscosity. Secondary brands often fall short in these two aspects, with occasional color differences like ΔE.
Eastman, synonymous with plate frame materials
Let's start with Eastman. This company is an unavoidable name in the CA industry.
Their cellulose acetate sheets are almost the benchmark in the eyeglass frame circle; injection-molded grade grades are used for tool handles, toothbrush handles, and stationery. Its advantage is stable batch color and even coloring, so customers don't have to repeat the color adjustment.
What does its sub-brand look like? Most are materials with slightly larger color differences (ΔE) or viscosity half a grade lower. The molecular structure hasn't changed, so the pressed sheet feels the same as the genuine brand, just making high-transparency, highly uniform high-end frames and you can pick them out.
Where is it used? Mid-range frames, tool handles, brush handles, and regular color parts. For these occasions, the requirements for color uniformity aren't maxed, so the secondary brand is just right.
Grand Cellu, the optical and high-purity line
Now, let's talk about Japanese Grand Cellu. This company follows the high-purity and optical route.
Its cellulose acetate accumulates on the photographic film base and polarizer tricellulose acetate sheets (TAC), with very strict control over residual monomers and impurities.
's secondary brands are often labeled with residue indicators or batches with acetyl content at critical values. Compared to Eastman's secondary brands, the second brand of Grand Cellulum leans more toward "edge purity materials"—not dirty, but a certain item on the test report that has been attached to the edge.
Where is it used? Ordinary injection-molded parts, frames with purity requirements not reaching optical grade, decorative parts. Its sub-brand works very well on standard color frames.
Cerdia, the third company
split from Celanese is Swiss Cerdia. Many people haven't heard of this company, but it has a strong background—originally Celanese's acetate business, later spun off .
It focuses on cellulose acetate sheets and tows, following a refined, small-batch, customized approach. Its sub-brand mostly consists of transition materials produced to meet specific customer specifications, or batches with slightly fluctuating plasticizer content.
Where is it used? Mid-to-high-end frames and special color components. Cerdia's secondary brands have limited circulation, but when you find shades in the right market, the value for money is impressive.
CA secondary brands aren't about frame material downgrade, but about acetyl content differences of just a fraction
CA How do you choose secondary brands? A few real pitfalls.
First, check color differences first. The most common mistake for CA secondary brands is color difference—frames made from the same batch have two color numbers on the left and right frames, and the customer returns them directly. Before entering the factory, compare the color and check the ΔE; don't just look at the grade on the material bag.
Second, ask about the intended use. High-end frames with high transparency and uniform color are genuine brands; Ordinary colors, half frames, inner frames are enough for secondary brands. Don't use secondary brands to directly challenge high-end color options.
Third, test pads are then mass-produced. CA is a thermoplastic sheet; first check the gloss and warping of small test pads, then open large quantities.

Previously, they used a batch of unknown "imported CA sub-brand," but the color difference of the same batch was severe, and the left and right frames on the assembly line didn't match, resulting in a 11% return rate.
