And when these items reach the end of their life, they don't really disappear; they are recycled, crushed, re-pelletized, and in a new form return to the production lines of pipe and profile factories. This is the everyday life of recycled PVC: it never shows off, yet it has quietly seeped into every pipe in your life.

When new PVC resin arrives at the factory, it is clean, has a uniform molecular weight, and the plasticizers and stabilizers are freshly prepared according to the formula—just follow the established recipe. Recycled PVC is different: when it comes in, the resin may already be mixed with calcium carbonate, old stabilizers, residual plasticizers, and impurities of different colors, and its molecular weight may have decreased due to previous processing. Next, poke through the layer separating hard and soft. The PVC family: the ones used to make hard pipes and rigid profiles are called unplasticized polyvinyl chloride, abbreviated in the industry as PVC-U; their formula doesn't include plasticizers, relying on fillers and reinforcements to achieve hardness and rigidity. Those used for cable insulation, artificial leather, and soft tubes are called plasticized polyvinyl chloride, abbreviated as PVC-P; their formula includes plasticizers, so they are soft and elastic. After recycling, these two materials cannot be mixed carelessly—if soft material gets into hard material, the produced pipes will become soft and dimensionally unstable; if hard material gets into soft material, the coatings will become hard and crack. Therefore, the first crucial step when recycled PVC enters the factory is to separate the hard from the soft. If separated incorrectly, no matter how the formula is adjusted later, it cannot be salvaged.

The recycling and regeneration process is not complicated: used PVC products are first sorted by hardness, softness, and color, and foreign materials like metal, wood, and rubber are removed, then they are crushed, washed, and dried. The real advantage comes from finding the mixing point that is both cost-effective and stable. There is no universal formula for this proportion—it has to be determined bit by bit according to the equipment, molds, and product requirements—and this is precisely where a long-term material supply can be helpful.
