The edging of a storage box is the box's 'lips'—opening and folding it every day, whether it is soft or durable depends entirely on it. The TPE edging must be bent repeatedly without cracking; bend resistance is the lifespan line. Shore A 70-80 provides a sense of support, and the lid does not collapse when closed.

The storage box is moved every day and its edges get bumped. The TPE needs to be impact-resistant, wear-resistant, and firmly adhered. Softer TPE absorbs shocks, harder TPE supports the frame.

A sample from each batch is kept to test peel strength (1.0-2.0 kN/m) and drop test, ensuring no cracking or detachment; when changing materials for a batch, first conduct a small trial assembly, and only proceed to larger scale production if there is no edge warping.

A household daily-use factory in Zhuhai had storage boxes with edge-banding that were not wear-resistant, and their surfaces scratched quickly. Cologne cooperated to rematch the rubber-coated substrate and processing temperature, improving wear resistance and cutting the rework rate in half. Only when the substrate is properly matched is the wear resistance sufficient—when it comes to wear issues, first check the substrate and temperature.
