儿童爬行垫天天爬又摔,TPE 要缓冲、防滑、低气味,硬了硌膝盖、软了塌边不弹。 孩子在上面翻滚磕碰,表层摩擦和回弹是核心,太薄一坐就透;
爬行垫收尾验收:开箱气味、湿水防滑、久踩回弹三项随批走。 每批留样测气味等级和湿态摩擦,晒三十天不发黏、踩久不压实;
The crawling mat collapsed after just two months, and the baby cries after a fall. If the cushioning and safety of the children's crawling mat are not chosen correctly, the floor mat becomes just a thin mat.
Collapsed after crawling for two months, the baby cries as soon as he falls
A children's crawling mat is a 'crawling cushioning item': cushioning, safe, and non-slip. The material should be cushioning, safe, and non-slip — conclusion first: SEBS-based TPE is mainstream for children's crawling mats; thick cushioning mats use XPE/TPV composites.
The biggest pitfall of children's crawling mats: pacifiers, the imported materials need to have all three certificates. Only when the imported materials have all three certificates can you feel at ease—the three certificates are the passport for crawling mats.
Children's crawling mats are children's products: odor and cracking are problems. Choose the right materials to give children peace of mind—don't skimp on materials for children's products.
Why use TPE for crawling mats
Reasons for using TPE in children's crawling mats: cushioning is achievable, safety is achievable, non-slip is achievable, high efficiency—together, these four make it suitable for crawling mats.
Buffering is key: crawling buffer. Buffering tests are written into acceptance — the vibration is the problem.
Safety cannot be compromised: contact at the entrance. Record the three certificate numbers into the inspection—if any of the three certificates are missing, that's a problem.
Crawl entrance clean, three barriers
Crawling condition: crawling cushioning. Cushioning data needs to be checked—vibration sensation, that's the problem.
Inlet operating condition: inlet contact. The three-certification data must be checked—the absence of the three certifications is a problem.
Clean working condition: clean repeatedly. Water resistance data must be tested—deformation equals a problem.
SEBS base or XPE? Comparison of crawling mats
| Dimension | SEBS-based TPE | XPE |
|---|
| Buffer | Can do | Good |
| Safety | Tall | Tall |
| Non-slip | Good | middle |
| Cost | Medium-high | middle |
| Thickness | thin | thick |
| Purpose | Foldable type | Full sheet of money |
Table reading: XPE has thick cushioning; TPE is non-slip and safe — foldable mat in TPE, whole mat in XPE.
Choose by style: whole sheet XPE, foldable TPE.
Crawling mat acceptance: Entry material must pass three certificates
| Identification | Check | Explanation |
|---|
| Certification Number | Number | Verification |
| Test Report | corresponding | Check |
| Batch record | Trace back | Verification |
| Certificate | Effective | Inspect |
Table reading method: Check the food contact certificate, migration report, and batch number one by one; only when the child leans on it can you feel at ease—materials that come into contact with the mouth should not go online without three complete certificates.
The three certificates are the passport for crawling mats.
Missing one of the three certificates, three pitfalls
Pitfall 1: Missing one of the three certificates. The incoming material must go through three certificates— all three must be complete.
Pitfall 2: Missed detection in buffering. Seismic sensation — buffer testing, must be tested.
Pitfall three: Water resistance leakage testing. Deformation — water resistance testing must be conducted.
Choose a crawling mat by first checking three certificates
Three questions: What are the numbers of the three certificates, what is the standard for buffering, and what is the cleaning method? One verification: test with actual usage — three questions and one verification, supplier's details are clear.
Verification of the three certificates must come first: scan the authentication number to verify its authenticity, and only discuss quantity once it matches the batch number. First check the three certificates, then talk about price — the three certificates are the pass for crawling mats.
Make sample retention a habit: retain samples for each batch and re-test buffering safety batch by batch. Before switching materials between batches, compare them first before scaling up—the batch is stable, and customer complaints are few.
Children's Crawling Mat: Don't Disassemble It When There's a Problem, Check This Chart First
| Phenomenon | Reason | Countermeasure |
|---|
| Vibration | Insufficient buffer | Add a buffer layer |
| Transformation | Insufficient water resistance | Change to waterproof material |
| Odor | Additive migration | Change to low precipitation material |
| slip | Insufficient slip resistance | Add texture |
| Missing three certificates | Certificate missing | Nuclear Three Certificates |
The mainstream crawling mat Shore 00 50 ranges from top to bottom to A 30, with a thickness of 1.5-2 cm, so it doesn't hurt when you fall on it. If it's too hard, it will bruise; if it's too thin, it won't provide cushioning. This level works for both sitting and crawling, and the soft mat can absorb a child's fall.
The fold crease on the folding mat cracks with just one fold. It's not as fragile as paper; the formula for bend resistance wasn't made. Repeated folding relies on a fatigue-resistant system, and the bend radius should not be less than a few times the material thickness to prevent the crease from opening.
EVA crawling mats are lightweight but have a smell and are not bouncy, while foamed TPE mats are elastic and bounce back quickly. Children sit and crawl on them every day, so that bounce and low odor are more important than a few pounds of weight.
The crawling mat inspection is based on four items: cushioning, anti-slip, folding durability, and washability. Fold it 500 times to check for creases, repeatedly wipe with a wet cloth to check for discoloration. For exports, additionally test for phthalates and REACH compliance.
Remade with a low-odor and fold-resistant formula, the mat will not crack after being folded a thousand times and will not harden after being scrubbed a hundred times. During crawling season, the two types of customer complaints about 'odor' and 'cracking' are reduced to zero.
Children crawl on the mat every day and fall frequently. TPE needs to provide cushioning, be non-slip, and have low odor. If it's too hard, it hurts the knees; if it's too soft, the edges sag and don’t bounce back. When kids roll and bump on it, surface friction and rebound are key; if it's too thin, you can feel the floor as soon as you sit down.
Choose an SEBS-based low-odor formula, it won't become sticky after sun exposure, is soft but not collapsing when stepped on, and won't compact or curl at the edges after prolonged walking.
For children's items, inspect odor and migration first before discussing cushioning data. When a new mat is unpacked and has a pungent smell, it is mostly caused by low molecular components; choose materials that have been properly degassed.
After unpacking and ventilating, it is neither pungent nor irritating to the eyes. Samples from each batch are kept to test odor levels and surface texture. It fits the ground without curling, and when changing materials for a batch, small batch test installations are done first.
Crawling mat final inspection: check each batch for unpacking odor, wet-slip resistance, and long-term stepping rebound. Keep samples from each batch to measure odor level and wet friction; after sun exposure for thirty days, it should not become sticky, and it should not compact after prolonged stepping.
When changing batches of material, first try a small batch; only increase the quantity if the edges do not curl and the surface does not have white frost.
Cologne Customer Case: Insufficient oil resistance causing swelling and deformation, compared with products aged over 1000 hours
A maternal and baby products factory in Yantai found that their children's crawling mats had insufficient oil resistance, swelling and deforming after soaking in oil. Kolong cooperated on-site during production debugging until the yield stabilized and the swelling was eliminated, passing the 1000-hour aging test in one go. During production debugging, the swelling was locked in before mass production—the oil resistance issue should first look at the formula, then at the parameters.
Summary
When choosing a crawling mat for children, first check the three certificates, then test the cushioning. The material for the pacifier entrance must also pass the three certificates. The three certificates are the pass.
What we deliver is not just a pack of material.
