国产CPVC(山东高信/新疆天业等中企大厂)

How much is CPVC per kilogram? Today's quotes — chlorinated PVC prices follow chlorine content
How much is CPVC per kilogram?
A quick search shows quotes ranging from CNY 9.5/kg to CNY 33/kg — a spread wider than the chlorine content itself. Some buyers say the CNY 9.5 domestic J-700 powder works fine; others insist only the CNY 33 Lubrizol 88077 counts as high flow. Where does the difference really lie?
Honestly, anyone asking "how much is CPVC per kilo" probably has not yet understood that CPVC is not a single material — resin powder, injection grade, extrusion grade, pipe grade and high-flow grade each carry a different price. Comparing a powder quote with an injection grade is not price comparison; it is how you get fooled.
1. Mainstream grade quotes (imported + domestic)
Here are the high-volume grades and reference prices on the market. Figures below are recent market references; live prices are subject to same-day inquiry.
Lubrizol (USA)
TempRite 88077, flame-retardant, weather-resistant, high-flow, corrosion-resistant, approx. CNY 27.5-33/kg. Pipe applications, electronics.
TempRite 88023, impact-resistant, high-temperature resistant, approx. CNY 28/kg. General injection molding, pipe.
TempRite 88096, high-temperature, high-rigidity, flame-retardant, strong corrosion-resistant, approx. CNY 20-21/kg. Pipe dedicated, industrial pipe.
Sekisui Chemical (Japan)
Sekisui CPVC injection grade, approx. CNY 25-35/kg. High heat and corrosion resistance; chemical piping, electronic components.
Domestic CPVC (Shandong Gaoxin, Xinjiang Tianye and other Chinese majors)
J-700 resin powder, approx. CNY 9.5-10.5/kg. Pipe-grade feedstock; requires in-house processing.
Domestic injection grade, approx. CNY 15-25/kg. Cost-effective; general injection molding, pipe.
Domestic extrusion grade, approx. CNY 12-20/kg. Sheet, pipe, profiles.
In short: resin powder CNY 9-11, extrusion grade CNY 12-20, injection grade CNY 15-28, high-flow/corrosion-resistant CNY 25-35. The form and chlorine content you need decide which tier you belong in.
2. Why do CPVC prices differ so much
The CPVC price gap mainly hides in four factors.
First, chlorine content. Ordinary CPVC with about 63% chlorine is cheap; high-chlorine grades above 67% offer better heat resistance and cost more. Every 1% increase in chlorine raises the heat resistance by 5-8°C.
Second, form. Resin powder is cheap; injection/extrusion pellets cost more. Powder requires in-house processing; pellets are ready to use.
Third, processability. General grades with average flow are cheap; high-flow grades suit thin-wall and complex structures and cost more. High-flow CPVC needs special formulations.
Fourth, brand and origin. Imports carry a premium but offer batch stability; domestic grades offer value but uneven quality. For the same injection grade, Lubrizol costs 30-50% more than domestic — you pay for quality control and R&D.
3. Procurement pitfalls: don't let the chlorine content fool you
I have seen too many buyers end up choosing the cheapest CNY 9.5 powder after endless price comparison, only to have in-house processed pipe fail on heat resistance and crack, trigger customer returns — one loss enough to buy half a year of good material.
Procurement of CPVC is deeper water than you think. Three traps must be avoided:
First, test Vicat softening temperature and chlorine content instead of trusting the grade name. Performance of the same grade can fluctuate between batches. Test against the COA before use. Don't listen to salespeople saying "close enough" — close enough is far apart.
Second, watch out for substitution fraud. Some traders sell PVC as CPVC, or low-chlorine as high-chlorine. Demand the COA, a chlorine-content test and original packaging. Only accept material with all three.
Third, don't compare unit price alone — calculate total cost. Material A at CNY 9.5/kg costs another CNY 5/kg to process in-house and yields a 5% defect rate; material B at CNY 25/kg is ready to use and yields 1%. Per finished part, B is actually cheaper.
4. Standard grades not enough? Consider modified compounds
If standard grades always fall short — you need flame retardancy AND high impact, heat resistance AND high flow, or low cost AND corrosion resistance — the problem is not CPVC itself; you don't need standard CPVC, you need modified CPVC.
Ningbo Kolong New Materials is developing high-performance modified CPVC solutions, with grades covering impact resistance, flame retardancy, high flow and corrosion resistance. For special needs, message us for a modified CPVC quote reference — it saves not only money but also trial-and-error time compared with buying powder and tuning additives yourself.
In plain terms: standard grades are a big pot of shared rice; modified compounds are a dish cooked to order. The higher your requirements, the more you need customization.
5. Popular grades — same-day quotes via message
All prices above are references. CPVC prices change daily — chlorine, PVC resin and exchange rates all move.
If you need same-day quotes for specific grades from Lubrizol, Sekisui or domestic producers, message us and we will send a live price sheet. No beating around the bush — real numbers.
Final words
For CPVC, the difference between CNY 9.5 and CNY 33 is not CNY 23.5.
Unit price is the threshold; choosing the right chlorine content and form is the baseline. Don't let the quote sheet fool you — you are not buying one kilogram of plastic, you are buying a solution for making heat-resistant pipe. Do the math per finished part, add in processing cost and the loss from rejects, and you will know who is truly cheap and who is truly expensive.
