PCTA/PCTG这东西,说白了就是共聚聚酯家族,一个偏耐化学,一个偏韧性,专做母婴水杯、化妆品包装、日用品。它娇贵在哪?怕吸潮、怕高温、怕跟普通PET混。跟透明玻璃杯放久了落灰一个道理——料本身没坏,可吸了潮,注塑的时候就容易出银纹、发雾。更头疼的是这俩料单价都不低,一托压下去就是好几万,放一年资金成本和仓库租金两头吃。
共聚聚酯一旦吸潮,身价就跟着打折。更头疼的是PCTA跟PCTG摆一起,光靠眼睛分不出来,得测熔点和耐化学性。
说个真事,老罗之前问过一圈收废料的。一听是PCTA和PCTG混着,有人直接说"这共聚聚酯太杂,我们做不了";有人报了个价,等老罗把人叫过来,对方捏了两下袋子,说"你这料牌号不清、还混着,只能按统货给你算",价格砍下去快三成。老罗想反驳,可人家两手一摊,"你不卖给我,门口还有别人排队呢"。

回收不是把共聚聚酯贱卖,是把压在仓位上的死钱盘活。

Old Luo opened a mother and baby product injection molding factory in Cixi, Ningbo, specializing in water cup and baby bottle accessories. Last month, the brand changed cup materials from PCTA/PCTG to ordinary PP. The two Toysman Tritan TX1001 and several bags of SK Skygreen T95G in the warehouse had been lying on the tray for almost a year. The bags had a layer of dust, the labels were still clear, but no one came to pick them up. Every time Old Luo drove into the warehouse, he would avoid them—this material was imported at a high price back then, and now it was piled up there like waste plastic.
Mother and baby packaging can be replaced at will; the material stored in the warehouse won't be replaced by itself.
Obsolete materials are not goods; they are cash flow forgotten by the supply chain.
PCTA/PCTG is basically the copolyester family—one is chemically resistant, the other tough, specializing in making baby cups, cosmetics packaging, and daily necessities. What makes it so precious? Afraid of moisture absorption, high temperatures, and mixing with regular PET. It's the same as transparent glass cups that accumulate dust after being stored for a long time—the material itself isn't bad, but if it absorbs moisture, it tends to show silver lines and fog up during injection molding. What's even more troublesome is that both materials are expensive—each press costs tens of thousands, and you have to pay for a year's capital and warehouse rent.
Copolyester absorbs moisture, and its value drops accordingly. What's even more troublesome is that when PCTA and PCTG are placed together, you can't tell by eye alone; melting point and chemical resistance must be tested.
Let me tell you a truth: Lao Luo once asked around around recyclables. When he heard it was PCTA and PCTG mixed, someone immediately said, "This copolyester is too mixed, we can't do it." Someone quoted a price, and when Lao Luo called them over, the other party pinched the bag twice and said, "Your grade is unclear, and it's mixed together, so we'll have to pay you as a standard product," cutting the price by nearly 30%. Lao Luo wanted to argue, but the other person shrugged, "If you don't sell to me, there are people waiting in line at the door."
The wholesaler was even happier seeing the mixed copolymer polyester than seeing the fat meat—he knew you couldn't tell the difference or find a buyer, so he pressed it hard. He's not here to buy goods, he's here to collect your anxiety.
To put it bluntly, the price he gives is always the price he would sell at a second price.

Pricing is based on light transmittance, chemical resistance, and appearance grading. Clean and bright materials get a good price, while slightly moisture-absorbing materials are accepted as modified transparent materials. Copolyester blends aren't unwanted by anyone; it's that you haven't found the right person who can grade and handle them.
The five-step cooperation process: material submission, grading evaluation, on-site receipt, deduction of payment, settlement and invoice. That's how Lao Luo handled the batch — he took photos and sent them, bidding about four tons for TX1001 and two tons for T95G. After we appraised and quoted the price, we arranged a time for on-site weighing. The recycling payment was directly deducted from his purchase of KONICE modified plastics next month, totaling over thirty thousand. Half the warehouse was cleared out, and Old Luo said it felt like clearing an old debt.
Recycling isn't about selling copolyester cheaply, but about revitalizing the dead money tied to the position.
Currently, the PCTA/PCTG grades that can be recycled include Eastman Tritan TX1001, PCTA BR203, Eastar series, SK Chem Skygreen T95G, K2012, and other mainstream numbers. In terms of form, they collect: obsolete original packaging, mother-and-baby water cup edges and corners, cosmetic bottle gates, transparent scrap, and inventory scrap. PCTA and PCTG should be packed separately as much as possible, and mixed materials can also be handled in grading.
Three common misconceptions, here is a reminder —
