老林在宁波北仑做冷热水管和消防管件,车间里挤出机常年出CPVC的活。上个月,一个管材项目改了标准,仓库里两托CPVC原包料,一下子用不上了。
CPVC这料,是氯化聚氯乙烯,做冷热水管、消防管、化工管的,耐温、耐腐蚀,比普通PVC硬气多了。可它加工温度高,边角料、水口料一旦放久了吸潮,回炉就容易分解变色。
老林的仓管把那两托料往里间挪,台账上写着"待处理"。车间那头,每天切下来的CPVC水口料、管件边角料堆在角落,和普通PVC水口料混在一起。
CPVC的痛点和PVC有点像:长得像PVC,耐温溢价高,一混就掉价。
呆滞料不是资产,是趴在账上的负债。
CPVC比普通PVC氯化度高,耐温到九十多度,做冷热水管、消防管、化工管道的。正因为是高端管材料,单价上比普通PVC贵一大截,一压库占的钱就多。
CPVC放久了,跟钢管在潮湿仓库里放久了一样——表面看着没坏,内里性能先起变化。原包料开袋吸潮,回炉温度又高,稍微烘不透,管件就发黄、起泡,做水管客户不敢用。
车间里要命的还是混料。CPVC和PVC水口料长得像,工人图省事往一个袋里倒。一混,CPVC的耐温溢价就打了水漂,只能按普通PVC卖。
高端管材料的贵,贵在"耐温"这两个字上,混掉了就一文不值。
老林找过收料的。贩子抓起料粒一看,说"这不就是PVC嘛,按PVC价"。老林当场摇头——他这是CPVC,做消防管的,跟普通PVC差着价呢。可贩子不听,他不认CPVC。
说白了,统货商对这种"长得像PVC"的料,本能就是往PVC上靠。他不是不知道有CPVC,是认CPVC没好处——认了就得给你好价,不认就能压你。
有些贩子的认知,停留在"塑料就分软和硬"这一层,你跟他谈耐温,他跟你谈统货。

Lao Lin works in Beilun, Ningbo, making hot and cold water pipes and fire protection fittings. The extruder in the workshop produces CPVC work year-round. Last month, a pipe project changed its standards, and the two CPVC raw material packages in the warehouse suddenly became unusable.
CPVC this material is chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, used for hot and cold water pipes, fire pipes, and chemical pipes. It is heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and much tougher than ordinary PVC. But its processing temperature is high, so if leftover and sprue materials are stored too long, they absorb moisture and easily decompose and discolor after reheating.
Lao Lin's warehouse manager moved those two supports to the inner room, with the ledger marked "Pending Processing." At the end of the workshop, daily cut CPVC sprue material and pipe fitting scraps are piled up in the corners, mixed with ordinary PVC sprue material.
CPVC's pain point is somewhat similar to PVC: it looks like PVC, has a high temperature resistance premium, and loses value when mixed in.
Obsolete material is not an asset, but a liability lying on the books.
CPVC has a higher chlorination degree than ordinary PVC, temperature resistance to over 90 degrees, used for hot and cold water pipes, fire pipes, and chemical pipes. Because it is a high-end pipe material, the unit price is much higher than ordinary PVC, and the cost taken up by loading the warehouse is higher.
CPVC stored for a long time, it's like steel pipes stored in a damp warehouse — the surface looks undamaged, but the internal performance changes first. Raw material absorbs moisture when opened, and after reheating, the temperature is high. If it doesn't dry thoroughly even slightly, the fittings turn yellow and bubble, making water pipe customers hesitant to use it.
The real problem in the workshop is mixing materials. CPVC and PVC sprue material look similar, so workers just pour it into one bag for convenience. Once mixed, the temperature resistance premium of CPVC is wasted, and it can only be sold as ordinary PVC.
High-end pipe materials are expensive because of the word "temperature resistance"; once mixed together, they're worthless.
Old Lin has contacted the collectors. The vendor picked up the material and said, "Isn't this just PVC? At PVC price." Old Lin shook his head on the spot—this is CPVC, a fire-fighting pipe business, and the price is lower than regular PVC. But the vendor wouldn't listen; he didn't recognize CPVC.
To put it bluntly, wholesalers instinctively lean toward PVC for materials that "look like PVC." It's not that they don't know about CPVC, but they recognize that CPVC has no benefits—if they accept it, they have to offer you a good price; if they don't, they can squeeze you down.
Some vendors think that "plastics are divided into soft and hard" layers. You talk to them about temperature resistance, they talk about bulk goods.

Tell a true story. Last year, a factory in Ningbo that makes fire pipe fittings had about 4 tons of original CPVC mixed with a bunch of PVC sprue material, so the project couldn't use it to change the standard. On our trip, we first picked out the CPVC mixed in PVC and sorted it; those with good temperature resistance were modified for the pipe fittings, and the recycling proceeds were directly offset against the next batch of KONICE payments, about half the cost. The row of mixing bags in the workshop was cleaned out, and the storage space was returned.
Good materials aren't afraid of not being picked up; the fear is selling good materials as waste.
CPVC we collect year-round, including extruded-grade pipe materials, injection-molded pipe fitting materials, and mainstream high-end market grades. Specific grades are subject to physical appraisal; we do not casually report numbers.
Recyclable forms: stagnant original packaging, sprue gate materials, extruded pipe scraps, scrap pipe parts, and inventory recessions. Special reminder—CPVC sprue material must be bagging with ordinary PVC; mixing it with the temperature resistance premium disappears.
