Old Chen opened an injection molding factory in Yuyao, specializing in home appliance shells and daily necessities. There are more than a dozen injection molding machines in the workshop, running nonstop every day. Last month, the two-roll ABS rolls stocked up during peak season had orders cut by 30% at the last minute. The young buyer didn't even count the numbers, so all the extra material was stuffed into the warehouse.
The problem isn't that he pressed two bags of material in the workshop. Every day, the sprue and gate materials cut off were mixed in white and black and packed into woven bags, stacked along the wall in a row. The warehouse manager complained to Old Chen that if they kept piling up, even the fire escape would get blocked.
Old Chen squatted at the weighbridge door smoking. The number "ABS sprue material" on the ledger jumped up again this month.
ABS volume is large and circulates quickly, but the bottlenecks are real: money is piled on the material, the material is on the ground, and the ground even occupies the workshop.
Obsolete material isn't an asset, it's a liability lying on the books.
ABS this material is one of the highest-selling general-purpose materials in injection molding workshops, and it's also a major disaster area for stagnant materials. It's not delicate by itself; the problem is there are many grades. Your warehouse might be stockpiled with Chimei's general-purpose grade, LG's high impact resistance, Taiwan Chemical's injection molding grade, or leftover flame-retardant grades from customer color changes. With so many grades mixed together, no one can tell who is who, and in the end, it just sells as bulk goods.
ABS yellows and becomes brittle, just like apples whose skin wrinkles after being stored for a long time—it still looks like the same fruit, but the inside is no longer good. The original raw material wrapped in the factory is fine, but when opened, it gets damp and browned, loses its physical properties, and the price drops accordingly.
What's even more annoying is the cost of capital. ABS costs several thousand per ton, and if the warehouse holds about ten tons, that's sixty or seventy thousand yuan in working money lying there. Factory rent and warehouse labor all pay for this pile of immobile material.
Money lying still in the warehouse is just slowly burning.
Old Chen's factory always encounters a few rounds of scrap goods coming to his door each year. The first one doesn't even look at the physical properties, just says "bulk price," treating your flame-retardant grade as ordinary. The second is even smoother, quoting a high price to lure you in, then after weighing it on the truck, they say, "This batch contains miscellaneous materials and sprue materials, deduct some," and keep charging until you spit blood.
Pinpin, why would he dare do this? Because he knows ABS manufacturers have scrap material everywhere; if you're not worried, there are plenty of people who are. They don't need to understand your materials at all; they just press you and that's it.
The wholesaler isn't helping you handle scrap; they're using your good materials to subsidize their inferior materials.
Cologne New Materials makes ABS, specializing in these bulk bulk bulk materials. Popular ABS grades have strong market demand. We have modification factories and downstream injection molding customers using them, so we can buy in and leave, no inventory pressure.
Niche colors, different color materials, batch deviation materials, all processed into Cologne's own modified formula. No choice of grade, no batch — even you can't say which grade it is, we take it to grading and test, and after measurement, we give you exactly what it should be.
Pricing is graded by grade, melting index, and impact strength, with clear and precise pricing—not a one-size-fits-all package. Flame retardant grade is the price of flame retardant, general-purpose grade is the price of general grade, and they don't use your fuel blocking money to subsidize their calculations.
Own production capacity plus downstream customers as a backup, stable quotation. ABS market trends change at the last minute, but we don't just follow the trend. The price quoted to you is basically acceptable.
The essence of recycling isn't selling scrap; it's about turning dead money into working money.
Cooperative follows five steps of "replacing recycled materials with new materials": material submission→ graded evaluation→ on-site pickup→ deduction of payment→ settlement and invoice. Recycling payments are directly deducted from the purchase of new materials in Kelong.
Tell a true story. Last year, a factory in Cixi that made small appliance casings had about 8 tons of obsolete ABS raw material plus one workshop's sprue material. The customer changed the part number and was eager to clear up space. On this trip, after grading and evaluation, the grades are split down by grade: flame-retardant is considered flame-retardant, generic is generic. The recycling fee is directly offset for the next batch of KONICE modified plastics, which is about half. The warehouse was cleared out in three days, the water channel was no longer blocked, and new material continued to enter the workshop.
Good materials aren't afraid of not being picked up; what's scary is selling good materials as scrap.
ABS we are familiar with: Chimei PA-757, PA-765A, PA-707K; LG Chem HI-121H, FR-500, HF380; Kumho 745NHM, HFA705, HFA452; INEOS Terluran GP-22, GP-35, 967; Formosa AG15A1, ANC120, AF3500, and other mainstream grades we have been buying year-round.
Recyclable forms: Obsolete original packaging (whole trays, loose packages), sprue gate feed, scrap and machine head material, defective scrap parts, and stock scrap. A reminder: flame-retardant and general-purpose grades should be packed separately as much as possible; if mixed, you can only use the unified retail price.
- "Is recycling just selling cheaply?" The truth is, they sell by grade and grade, good materials sell at good prices, and only mixed materials get underpriced.
- "Shuikou material isn't valuable?" The truth is, clean and single Shuikou material can still be sold at a higher price after grading.
- "Who offers the highest price and sells to whom?" The truth is, you bargain and scale down upon arrival, and the price is even worse than the three companies.
Fully Qualified for Proper Disposal, with weighing orders, recycling orders, and distribution certificates all matched one-to-one, can pass environmental audits and ISO audits, and do not go to illegal small workshops
