A quick search shows quotes ranging from CNY 15/kg to CNY 35/kg — a spread wider than the PC ratio itself. Some buyers say the CNY 15 domestic general-purpose grade works fine; others insist only the CNY 35 Covestro premium grade counts as high impact. Where does the difference really lie?
Honestly, anyone asking "how much is ABS/PC per kilo" probably has not yet understood that ABS/PC is not a single material — general-purpose, high-impact, flame-retardant, heat-resistant and plating grades each carry a different price. Comparing a general-purpose quote with a flame-retardant one is not price comparison; it is how you get fooled.
ABS/PC is an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene/polycarbonate alloy (the same family as PC/ABS, just expressed with a different ratio order). It combines ABS's ease of processing with PC's high impact and heat resistance, and is commonly used in automotive interiors, electronics, appliance housings and power tools.

First, PC ratio. Around 20% PC is cheap; above 50% gives high impact but costs more. The higher the PC content, the better the impact strength and heat resistance, but the harder the processing.
Second, flame retardancy grade. General-purpose is cheap; flame-retardant is expensive. Flame retardancy needs special FR additives and costs more.
Third, heat resistance grade. General-purpose grades with HDT around 80°C are cheap; high-heat grades with HDT above 110°C cost more. Heat resistance level determines the service environment.

Procurement of ABS/PC is deeper water than you think. Three traps must be avoided:
First, test impact strength and melt flow index instead of trusting the grade name. Performance of the same grade can fluctuate between batches. Test against the COA before use. Don't listen to salespeople saying "close enough" — close enough is far apart.
Second, watch out for substitution fraud. Some traders sell ABS as ABS/PC, or low-PC as high-PC. Demand the COA, a PC-ratio test and original packaging. Only accept material with all three.
